It's over... it's finally over Lance thought as he took the first step out of the red lion. He looked up at red, its over. He sighed and took his helmet off, he was walking towards the door when black flew in, she was carrying blue in her jaw.

When Lance saw blue all the memories started flowing back, his first time meeting Allura, his first time actually connecting with her after Shiro left. Giving her the blue Bayard, when she found him with the Altean broadsword, her telling him to "stay safe", their first date, when he said, "I love you." when he comforted her in her room, thousands of battles and hundreds of conversations, millions of sad times and happy times, but seeing blue? After what just happened, that's what broke him. Lance fell to the floor with a pitiful sob and thought, She's gone, I just got her and now she's gone. Lance curled himself up into a ball as tears fell down his face. "Why, why, why, why," He started mumbling to himself "why, why her? why, why her, why not me? why not ANYONE ELSE?!" Thoughts plagued his mind asking, was there anything he could have done? He should have fought harder. There must have been another way.

He was still on the floor when Keith came out of the black lion. He took one look at Lance and knew what was wrong, he dropped his Bayard and ran over. "Hey, buddy," Keith said as he lowered himself down to Lance. He didn't bother with an 'are you ok?' because obviously, he wasn't.

Keith was about to go get Hunk when Lance grabbed his forearm and said "don't go" So he didn't. He sat there with Lance in his arms for an hour before Lance fell asleep, he looked over at the boy that he admired so much and felt a small amount of comfort in him.

Keith gripped the smaller boys frame to his chest and told him "you better not forget this idiot."

After a while, Hunk found them on the floor, Keith holding Lance in his arms, and Lance curled up into the tightest ball, tear stains still prominent on his face. Hunk went over and shook Keith hoping to get them off the floor and into a real bed. Keith woke with a small grunt, he looked up at Hunk then Lance and quickly with a red face let go of Lance. "Uh... he was crying, and... I felt, bad? I just, I didn't think, I should have gotten you, I.. uh, sorry. Keith stuttered out, obviously flustered.

"Dude, its okay, I bet he doesn't feel... feel the great-" He swallowed "The greatest, right now, none of us do, but he, he definitely took it the hardest." Then with a small gasp, he said, "Coran" and Keith understood, Lance was taking it the hardest right now, but that was because Coran didn't know.

"Who's gonna tell him?" Keith asked, still sitting on the floor next to Lance who was asleep on his shoulder now.

Hunk looked at the floor, "I don't know... he's gonna be heartbroken. Allura was like his daughter." Keith nodded then he turned to look at Lance sadly, he reached down slowly and placed a single figure on his cheek where Allura had left an Altean mark.

Running his thumb up and down the mark, Keith asked: "how do think this happened? The marks I mean. Lance isn't Altean is he?"

Hunk shook his head "I don't know, maybe an Altean made its way to earth, or maybe Allura left Lance some of her quintessence. We'd have to do tests on the marks but for now, all we can do is speculate."

Keith nodded, and looked back up at Hunk, "we should get him into a real bed." Keith suggested, Hunk nodded and Keith handed him Lance witch he took bridal style.

Hunk carried Lance out of the room while Keith sat there for a minute later thinking. Keith knew he wasn't as upset as everyone else on the team. He knew he had little to no relationship with Allura, and he knew that it was the logical choice. But, he really really really, didn't want to. Keith didn't know if he could handle it, but he had to try...

After telling Shiro his plan, Keith made his way up the atlas to the deck. Where he saw Coran sitting in his chair working on some project. Slowly dragging his feet, Keith made his way across the deck and sat in the empty chair next to Coran.

"Oh! your back! wonderful! we were starting to get worried when Shiro passed out, well it didn't seem good. But your back now, and unharmed it seams!" Coran chirped out as he kept working on the project.

Keith slowly raised his head and looked at Coran, "Coran..." He said slowly. "not... not all of us came back... unharmed."

Coran looked shocked "What? Who?!" he asked standing up and forgetting his project.

Keith sighed, and not meeting his eyes, told him, "Allura."

"what." came from Coran, it was the quietest Keith had ever heard him speak before. "is... is she." Keith nodded, Coran fell down on to the ground, "no no no no no." He started mumbling. "No no no no no, this... this can't be happening, no no no, not... not again, I can't-" he cut himself off by shaking his head. "no no no no NO!!!"

At this point, the other people in the room have noticed and had started coming over, but Keith stood up and blocked their path, "give him some space," Keith told them. Coran had started shaking and rocking back and forth.

Keith slowly moved his way over to Coran's crumpled form. He put a hand on his shoulder pulled him into a hug. Keith didn't hug people often but when he did, they were sincere. So it was sincere when he pushed his arms under Coran's and squeezed the man, who in turn started sobbing and gripped Keith's shirt. "Is she really gone?" Coran asked him, it was muffled by Keith's shirt but he heard it. Silently Keith nodded squeezed him again, hoping to show reassurance.

It was like a dam was broken and all the sadness in the universe rushed through the man, making him shake with sobs.

Keith looked down at the man and said: "I'm sorry."
