It took me little effort to greet you, and say how beautiful you were in your pink dress.

You smiled and smothered your hands against your rosy cheeks, covering up the hue that rose to your face.

I pretended not to see your flustered expression, and gave you the bouquet of flowers, with my head down in embarrassment.

But you accepted the bouquet of flowers kindly, with a small giggle arising from your chest.

That took me back for a second, before I shook my feelings of dread away, and continued to start a conversation with you, while taking a glance at the bouquet of flowers you held so dear to your soul.

The bouquet of flowers that started our neverending love, that was sure to end in a matter of minutes anyway.

I'm so sorry, Hwayoung.

I really am.

My feet feel cold and numb, as Hoseok and I make contact with the waves, crashing against the shoreline quietly.

He chuckles when my arms squirm under his, wanting his warmth so badly.

But when I touch him, I don't feel warm and fuzzy, like I used to when he still remembered everything we ever had.

Instead, his touch is unfamiliar to my skin.

Something exquisitely unique, and I'm not sure I like it.

I pull my arm away from him slowly, so he doesn't realize the change in my thoughts.

The waves continue to hit our bare feet, with the sunset sitting peacefully on the horizon.

The breeze from before comes back and blows against our backs, pushing us into the waves a little more.

We smile it off, admiring the beautiful view above us.

Just as I was about to break the silence among us, Hoseok tucks my hair behind my ear, staring at me in awe.

He lets my hair fall down my shoulders, with a sigh escaping his lips.

"Hwayoung, there's something I need to tell you."

I look at him expectantly, wanting the words to fall right out of his mouth.

But what he says is more than what I expected, and more than what I wanted to take.

"Hwayoung, I like you."

And he was telling the truth.

But at this time, I really wish he weren't.
