I go to my room and find my brand new saddle bag I just got for my birthday a few weeks ago. It's teal with some brown and desi- OH who cares we could die right now! I put my phone charger and my favorite stuffed animal that looks like Buck in the first front pocket. In the next pocket, I stash some food in case. Everyone does the same. In all the other pockets I have water. I throw it onto Bucks butt and go get his saddle. I latch the girth of the saddle and put a training band around his front in case he rears. I hop on and walk him around talking smack about how life would be great if this never happened. "Make sure the girth is tight in case he takes off," Mom yells. But I know Buck would never do that to me. I think of Gace and her sister Makenna and start to worry. I want to ride down the driveway and to her house but we can't risk getting separated from our family. Oh! I forgot to tell you that Grace got a new horse! It's a girl and her name is Lilly. She's an appaloosa and she's purebred. I've met her once and rode her but... It's not the same as riding Buck. No horse will. I keep talking to Buck when my older brother Matthew and his horse Ninja join us. He rides close to Buck and pets his mane. "Are you worried?" I asked shaking. "Only when you say it like that.
