He turned and headed back to the horse. A deadly silence curtained out the brightness. Even the trees dared not to utter a sound. And certainly no signs of life were amongst the bushes either, for they may be in the presence of death itself.

I hadn't realized my eyes had given into the warmth embracing me until the horrifying screams of torture erupted from afar. It was the cry of a helpless female struggling for her life. Instinctively, my body moved towards the cry but I was immediately pulled back into his arms.

"Don't meddle in problems that aren't yours." He growled in a low yet threatening tone. I wanted to remove myself from his arms but I couldn't bare the loose the feeling.

When we arrived before the darkened depths, the rocky entrance of what used to be my home howled. From all locations I oddly could only commit this one to memory. However, something appeared off about its current display but I could not tell stories of what.

Our steps shattered leaves as we inch closer. Inside lied nothing much aside from the damp insides of the cave. The warmth that was once here vanished as did its occupant. It was no longer welcoming, but replaced with the feeling of betrayal that leaked deep into my bones. The cave growled as the winds broke through its fangs. Silver droplets fell from the rock shards hanging from above.

"You mean to tell me that you've lived in this place as a child?" the disgust in his voice was apparent.

I frowned at the insult, "yes."

"How does one forget everything of their past hours but maintain the memory of a single place?" his question digs into my inritants.

"Why inquire if you won't believe." I turned my heels away from the untrusting creature and resumed my exploration of my old home. It is no longer my home but I also no longer have a place to call thus in this vast forest.

A crunch of the fallen leaves gasps our attention. The clouds completely darken the sunlight that casted into the cave. My steps fell back, stepping onto the uneven surface of pebbles.

Just as I felt my balance abandoning me, a familiar warmth circled around my waist and broke my fall. Before my lips could part, the clouds cleared and trotting movements wavered before us. A baby fox came in with its paws rushing and sounds of a chase behind him.

The sense an incoming devil chasing behind the fur ball grew stronger. We stood still in anticipation with our eyes focused on the beaming rays from outside. A half blood devil was approaching.
