"(y/n)! I heard I would find you here! And my sister, Em! I heard you sent Maurine searching for honey, you naughty thing. She's running everywhere, trying to find out where the shipment is," The prince had entered the room moments before without even knocking. You stood nervously with a tray in your hand. It's not like you could leave now—the prince had obviously been looking for you. Not to mention he stood in front of the doorway.
The princess sighed as if sudden exhaustion had overcome her, "Ashe, what is it? Can't you see I'm busy?"
"Busy? Doing what?" he laughed and took some steps toward the table. "Let's all sit together, shall we? Maurine will still be a while, (y/n), so you should join us." You did as he asked, although nervously, and made sure to keep your gaze away from his.
"How is Maurine going to take even longer?" The princess asked. "She should give up by now, I think."
"Oh, she was about to until some white knight saved her day and told her about the stock we keep in the right wing storage rooms for times like these," the prince smiled smugly as he relaxed into his seat.
"How cruel of you, Ashe!" Princess Emeline laughed. "She could be in there for hours. That room is huge!"
"It's honestly quite possible that she'll manage to find honey somewhere in there," the prince admitted. "But, Em, what about Irene? The most recent lady-love of mine that you stole so cruelly from me? She ditched me to see you today."
"Oh, I know. She's too good for you, brother. Unfortunately, I had to reschedule with her. I wanted to have tea."
"You mean to tell me you canceled a date with Lady Irene of all people? And a date you stole from me?" He was astonished at her actions. "All for this?" he gestured to you incredulously. Admittedly, being referred to as "this" didn't make you feel great.
"Well, after everything you told me, how I could I resist? I was too curious to wait any longer," The princess defended herself.
The prince sighed exasperatedly, "Incredible. I feel very cheated out of a date that was rightfully mine, and now it was all for nothing." He turned suddenly to you, and it took all your will power not to return the gaze. This difference was going to take some time to get used to... "And what have you got to say about all this? You should feel pretty special—the crown princess just cancelled a date with one of the most beautiful bachelorettes in the kingdom to have tea with you—a maid." It took a certain amount of self-control to not retort back "No need to remind me that I am a maid, your majesty, I am fully aware of it," but you held you tongue.
"I am very honored, and I hope lady Irene has a good day despite her circumstance," you managed to find some appropriate response to the inappropriate question.
"Ashe, stop harassing my maid," the Princess frowned. "Why did you even come here?"
"Why do you think I came here?" He wiggled his eyebrows as if to suggest that the answer was obvious, but unfortunately, you had no idea what he was going on about. He directed his attention to you before speaking again, "Please don't get all in a twist, little maid. I honestly understand why my sister wanted tea with you. You're a vision to look at. Trust me, if you were a noble, We would have fucked by now."
You gasped at his crude words, and you had no response. What were you supposed to say to that sort of thing in your situation? Your face reddened. Who's to say I would have wanted to lay with you, you thought back. Before the silence had gone on too long, the princess responded for you, "Ashe I can't believe you would be so crude! You need to apologize, now! I don't care if she's just a maid, I will not tolerate you speaking to a lady that way."
