Jerome
The new girl, Angelica or whatever, has been a pain in the ass for me. She was always trying to seek my attention. I knew the kind of person she was; a wolf in sheep clothing, a pretentious bitch, a two-faced snake, name it.
I saw her talking to Jumoke the other day, she better not lay a finger on my babe.
The Accounts teacher walked in and we settled down for the class. We were in the fifth week of resumption.
JAMB was to begin in the first week March and WAEC was starting on March ending, NECO was starting on last week of June.
Our teachers were preparing us adequately for all our exams. They were working overtime. We were now having classes very early in the mornings, during reading periods and after closing. We even came to school on Saturdays.
The bell was rung, indicating the end of Accounts period and break time.
"We'll continue the next time I have your class." The teacher said and left.
Immediately, noise erupted and people starting getting up from their seats, the extremely hungry ones went outside.
My guys and I didn't go out yet, we were still on our seats.
I put my head on the table, facing the ground. Not long, I heard a screech, a very irritating sound.
"Hey guys." Someone said with a completely fake accent.
I raised my head and saw Christiana, I meant Angela, standing in front of me.
All of us just looked at her with raised brows. Only Clinton asked "what's up?" cos he's the nicest of us all.
"Umm....who among you is the head boy?" She asked.
"Who's asking?" I asked.
"Me. I just want to know." She smiled, an overly sweet smile.
"I am."
"Oh, I guessed right. You're Jerome, right?"
"No, I'm Thomas." I replied and Clinton nudged me. Bayo and Lolade snickered.
She was embarrassed but tried to hide with a small laugh. "You're so funny. I actually like sarcastic guys, you know."
Who cares?
"So...I'm Angela." She touched her chest.
"Yeah, I know."
"And I know this is Clinton, Bayo and Lolade."
They smiled at her and continued what they were doing. I know it was a fake smile but it didn't show.
"So, are guys going out for break?"
"No, we're broke." I replied.
"We are....don't mind him." Lolade said and gave me a 'stop it' look.
We stood up and we went downstairs to the cafeteria. The girl kept talking and talking. She and I entered the cafeteria first followed by the rest of the guys.
I saw a pair of eyes that belonged to Jummy, scrutinizing us.
Oh, I'm doomed.
"Let's go sit over there." Angela pointed to a table in the far west part of the cafeteria.
"No thanks. I'm going to sit over with my girlfriend. See you later." I left her with the guys. I heard them following me afterwards.
I heard Bayo tell her, "We kinda sit together all the time."

Jumoke
Jerome and Angela came in together. Jerome had his hands in his pocket with a bored face while Angela talked animatedly.
Is she even noticing that he's not listening to her?
I studied them. They didn't look good together at all. It's like a group of lions are walking and you see a chicken beside them. That's the best thing that described the situation.
Jerome walked over to the table where Chioma and I sat.
"Hey." He sat beside me and put a hand over my shoulder.
"Hi." I gave him an overly sweet smile.
"She was the one following us."
"I didn't say anything. And I'm not jealous."
Lie. I'm a bit, just a teeny-weeny jealous.
"I didn't say anything about jealous." He took one of my buns and ate it at once. "Chichim baby." He smiled at her.
Chioma narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't call me that."
Bayo, Clinton, Lolade and surprisingly, Angela joined us on our table.
"Hey." She waved at me and Chioma and we waved back with a smile.
Well.....this girl doesn't seem that bad. She's just.......I dunno. Maybe she just want to make friend and hang out with us, popular people.
"So....He's your boyfriend?" She asked.
I was about to say no but Jerome put his hand over my shoulder. "Yes I am."
Classic Jerome.
"Aww, you guys look cute together."
"Thank you." Jerome said.
We talked for a while before the bell was rung.
Angela isn't that bad sha. I just hope she isn't pretending.
_____________
Closing time came fast. After- school lessons usually commenced at 4:00pm. Chioma and I went to buy snacks before the lesson began.
We were having joint Biology class. When we came back, some students had occupied our seats.
"Umm....this our seats." I told them.
"Did you bring chair from your father's house?" One of the two girls with tribal mark asked.
Tani eleyi bayii?
"Aunty stand up jor. You too, did you bring this chair from your daddy's house? Abeg, take your smelly asses from our seats." Chioma's face and tone was so scary the girls had to stand up.
"Rubbish. Don't go and bring your own chair from your class." Chioma hissed when they got up, making me laugh.
"Chioma o." I laughed a bit loudly.
"Settle down class." The principal appeared at the door. This man ehn. "Head girl, what's so funny?"
"Nothing sir." I turned serious immediately.
"Where's Mr Alfred?" He asked.
"Here sir." Mr Alfred stood behind the principal. He greeted him with a bow before entering the class.
"Good afternoon sir." We stood up and greeted.
He looked at his wrist watch. "4:02pm. Afternoon?"
Some people laughed before we corrected ourselves. "Good evening sir."
"Much better. Sit down, bring out your notes and your past questions. If you don't have. Outside!"
Some people groaned."What? I told you guys you must always bring your past questions. I've tolerated your lack of seriousness enough. Please, get yourself out. The rest that have, put it on your table, let me see."
He went round and checked everybody's past questions. The rest went out, lurking around the corridors.
He went back to the front of the class and the lesson began.
