Ben woke up at four the next morning. He was still in shock and disbelief that Jake has lightning powers. The power bestowed onto those who are graced by God and is special. That all this time, all the time he knew Jake, that he was the special one. Ben sat up. He decided he should see if Jake is okay. He threw on his usual black t-shirt. Black was Ben’s favorite color. He knocked on Jake’s door. The door pushed open as he knocked. Ben got worried. he walked in and heard clanging. Ben called out Jake’s name. “Jake? You ok?” He was expecting to see something horrific when he pushed open Jake’s bedroom door, but instead, he saw Jake taking a hammer to an anvil. Ben now knew what he was doing. He was working on the weapons he wanted to make. Ben yelled his name. Jake stopped what he was doing and took his safety helmet off. He looked back at ben and smiled. “Sup?” Ben chuckled. “Weapons I’m supposing?”

Jake smirked. “ wait for an hour.”

Ben sat in Jake’s living room for about an hour. Jake then came out with a huge smirk on his face. Jake put a ring on his finger. Just a plain metal coil. Attached to the ring was a thin, metal string. Then he flicked a switch on the back of the gauntlet. With a flick of his wrist, a blade sprung out from hiding in the gauntlet. Jake wrapped his fingers on the blade and pulled it out and held the knife upside down. he pushed the blade back into its place and retracted it. “I’m keeping this on at all times, including at school. Don’t say a word about it ok? I need to have for protection purposes.” Ben nodded his head and zipped his lips. “Ben everything in ready. my get-up, my weapons, everything. Let me show you.” Jake went to his room. he came back, wearing his blue hoodie, the hood up, a bandana covering his mouth and nose, his glasses removed, dark jeans, and black fingerless gloves. Around his waist was a belt which held his gun with the holster, as well as his sword and a few throwing knives. His blade gauntlet hidden under his right hoodie sleeve. He had a shoulder guard on his left shoulder. he wore his boots which held a hidden knife. he looked ready for a war. Ben stared at him wide-eyed like he did yesterday. Jake smirked under his bandana. “Watch what I learned to do as well.” He closed his eyes and his hands started turning blue. he snapped his eyes open and drew his knife gauntlet and when the blade shot out, so did streaks of lightning. they were dispersed to the floor and then quickly vanished into thin air. Ben clapped as if it were a magic trick. Jake retracted the blade and flipped the lock switch. He went back to his room to get out of his war clothes. Ben followed. “You’re like a super hero now. Whats your name gonna be?” Jake sat for a moment. He finally thought of one. “ Assassin. Yeah, the Assassin.” Ben nodded in approval. “I like it.”

they got ready for school and both walked together. When they got into homeroom there was someone new. Jake saw her. His heart started to race. he has never seen someone more beautiful than her. Ben noticed his staring dumbfoundly. He snickered. “Well it seems that someone has a little crush.” Jake ignored him. The girl walked over to them. “HI I’m Gabby! It’s nice to meet you!” Jake held out his hand out and shook her hand. “I’m Jake. It’s nice to meet you too, Gabby.” “I have math first period. Can you show me where that’s at?” She smiled so sweetly. Jake started to stutter a little. “Uh y-yea sure I can. I have that next period as well.” Just then something happened. The power went out. Then darkness filled the room. Gabby backed up into Jake. She lit a flame in her hand. Jake was so love struck he couldn’t comprehend the current danger he was in. “ So you’re a fire user?” She looked up at him. “Yes! Now isn’t the time to talk. Use your powers!” As she said that more monsters like the ones a couple nights ago emerged. “Uh, I don’t have powers!” She was shocked. “What?” she shouted. She grabbed his arm and they ran out of the classroom. They made it out of the darkness and outside the school. She continued running. Jake was confused. “Where are we going?” He asked. “ To my house. I saw this kind of power before. It was at my school and someone died when it happened. I need someone to take with me for protection or back up. You were the closest one to me and we had to get out as quick as possible.”

They made it Gabby’s house, but they didn’t go into her house. They went into a large shed. She pulled them inside and shut the door. It was pitch black. She lit a flame with her hand and set it onto a torch. The room lit up and Jake gawked. Weapons, battle plans, diagrams. All related to the darkness. “ The man behind this mysterious goes to your school. I need to find him and kill him. His name is Savin. Nobody believes me and calls me crazy.” Jake spoke up. “ I believe you.” She looked at him in disbelief a little bit. “ You do?” “Yes I do. Me and my friend call this new power darkness. And as Savin, I had a run into him yesterday. I saw his powers used. I say again, I believe you.” She smiled a little. She has finally found someone who believes her. She went to her wall of weapons and pulled down a handgun. "Alright lets see how bad the darkness is." Jake nodded in agreement.  As the pushed open the shed doors, they couldn’t believe the sight they saw before them. Complete darkness in the sky, the demon like monsters everywhere, people everywhere were running in terror. Gabby couldn’t believe what she saw. Jake grabbed her wrist. “ Come on! We have to get my weapon!” He started to pull her along until she began to run with him. As they ran to his house, monsters tried attacking them. Gabby shot them down as they ran past. When they made it to Jake’s house they stopped. “Cover me. Make sure they don’t get in!” She nodded. Jake opened his door and went and opened his secret wall. He saw his Assassin outfit. He ignored it and grabbed the gun and his sword. He ran back out to Gabby’s side and fought the monsters. He slashed his sword while she fired her gun. She shouted something to Jake but he couldn’t hear her. “What?” “We have to get to the school! He is most likely to be there. We have to stop him!” Jake slashed his sword once more and followed her back to the school.

The entire place had a huge, dark cloud above it. They knew Savin would be at the top. The charged through the school, killing monsters as they ran. They got to the roof of the school to see Savin standing near the edge looking down. Jake charged at him, but when he swung his blade, he almost fell as Savin disappeared. Jake was shocked. Just then there was a loud burst of laughter from Savin. He teleported behind Jake. He then hit Gabby and sent her flying across the roof to hit her head on the little wall. Savin continued laughing. He then turned to Jake. He tensed up. He knew he was next, but Jake readied himself for an attack. Savin then made a sword with his darkness. His laughter ceased. It felt like an eternity to Jake just standing there. They stared into each others eyes, waiting for the other to make a move. Then Savin teleported again, right behind Jake and slashed his back. Jake fell immediately and then his vision went blank.

Jake woke up to seeing a bright light in his eyes. He leaned up and saw he was in a hospital room. He saw bloody surgical tools on a tray next to him. His own blood turned cold. A doctor came into his room. “ Ah you’re awake. That’s good. Jake, we have just performed surgery on your back. Well, just stitched it up. You were hit in the back with a sword a day ago. We found a girl dragging you looking for help. If you want, she is here waiting for you to wake up. Do you want to see her?” Jake supposed it was Gabby. “Yes, please send her in.” The doctor nodded and walked out of the room. Jake looked up at the ceiling again. He remembered all the events that happened. The back slash, the intense staring. Then he started thinking about Savin’s teleporting. he wouldn’t be able to hit him if he could teleport like that. Just then Gabby ran into his room and wrapped her arms around him. Extreme shocks of pain shot through his back. He started screaming a little and she immediately let go. “ Sorry. God I’ve been worried sick about you. Are you okay?” “Yea I’m fine, just my back hurts at the moment is all. You dragged me here?” “Yea I did.” “Why?” “You protected me in a way. It’s only fair I help protect you. And we kinda have to talk.” “ What about?” Jake was concerned. “Savin succeeded. He took over the entire world. He had armies planted everywhere to help claim the world. Nobody could stop them. He now controls the world. And it seems like there’s no one to stop him.” Jake slumped back into the bed. “ Let me rest for now. I should be healed tomorrow. We will talk more tomorrow.” She nodded and sat up. In the doorway she stopped and looked back. She had big eyes. Almost irresistible to Jake. He wanted to stare into them forever. She looked at him and smiled. “Thank you for helping me try and stop him.” Jake smiled a little as she left the room. His smile soon faded though as he realized that bigger things lay at hand. The world was taken over by Savin. Jake knew in his head that he would have to be the one to stop it. His Assassin persona would help that. His new found lightning powers would be of great assistance. He knew he had to be strong, prepared, and ready to kill. But for now, he would have to heal. He laid back and closed his eyes, trying to wash away all the fear that dwelled inside him.
