“What?!” I exclaimed, aghast.

“Don’t freak out or anything!” she rushed on, “I just really want to experience a normal teenage girl’s life.”

I burst out laughing, thinking this was a prank or a joke of some sort. “Alright, where are the cameras? Ashton? Where are you?” I asked wildly, looking around, but when I turned back around to look at Lea, I saw her face and realized that she was dead serious.

“What about the fact that we look nothing alike? Have you thought of that?” I asked, pointing out one of the many flaws in the plan.

“Actually, other than the hair, we could pass as each other.” Lea got up and walked over to one of the mirrors and I followed her. We stood side by side and I stared at the both of us.

She was right; other than the hair, we looked pretty similar. “I can get wigs.” she said, answering my unspoken question.

I thought about it for a sec before realizing something. “And what exactly am I getting out of this crazy scheme of yours?”

“I can give you money! I have lot’s of it.” Lea replied, “I bet there’s something that you need it for.

I hesitated. She was right; I did need money for something.

Back in the U.S.A, I had managed to scrape up enough money to secure my spot at Brown University and pay for everything in my first semester, but I had no clue on how I was going to pay for it after first semester was over,

I was kind of leaving that problem to be sorted out at a later time...a.k.a I was delaying it until the last moment possible.

Lea saw my hesitation and smiled, “See? There’s something in it for the both of us! And you’ll get to experience what it’s like to be rich!”

“Yeah...I guess…” I said, trailing off.

“So are you in or out?” Lea asked with a hopeful smile.

I thought about Isabelle and Katie at our dinner table and how hard we had worked to get here, but when I thought about going to university and how I really needed the money, I knew they would want me to take this opportunity.

Or at least I hoped so.

After a minute of thinking, I smiled back at Lea and said “I’m in.”
