When I woke up, I was lying on bed in my room. I felt someone moving my fingers and some pressure on my wounded hand. I opened my eyes and looked into the most beautiful face I had ever seen. His lips were full, but emotionless with a small birthmark on the left side. His nose was sharp and perfectly placed and shaped, with another birthmark on the tip. His eyes were stunning and focused on his task. They also were the perfect shape and with yet another birthmark on the lower lid.
The sight of this gorgeous man did not help me ignore the pain I felt every time he bent my fingers. When he moved my thumb, I twitched in pain and pulled back my arm as I tried to sit up. I looked around and saw Jungkook sitting in the chair on the other side. He was sitting on the edge and watched me closely.
"Ah, you are awake. Sorry for hurting you, I was just testing your muscles and nerves. Seems like there's not a lot of damage. But you will have to keep it still for the next couple of days. You have cut deep enough to hit a sinew, but I think you are going to be okay." His voice was a deep baritone sound, and it rumbled in his chest before it reached his mouth. It gave me goose bumps.
"This is Kim Taehyung, he is the doctor that helped you when you were in the hospital. He is the last person who knows about you being here, since he wanted to keep an eye on your health." Jungkook moved to the side of the bed, next to the doctor. He seemed a little young to be a doctor, though.
"I am okay now, thank you for coming to see me, doctor." I smiled.
"No problem. To be honest, I am still a medical trainee. This is just part of the learning process." The boxy smile he gave me was mesmerizing and I couldn't help but smile back.
"Talking about your training, Taehyung..." Jungkook asked before he loudly cleared his throat. "Don't you have another patient to go to?"
"Ah yes, I do!" Taehyung said with an innocent expression. "I almost forgot about that. Here are your disinfecting medicine. Please replace the bandage once a day and while doing so clean the wound. I think you will be fine, but if you experience any discomfort or pain contact me immediately!"
"I will, doctor. Thank you again!"
Jungkook showed him out, since there were some security measures before you could leave the premises. I stayed behind in my room and looked at my hand. All traces of blood were gone and only the bandage proved there was a wound. Almost like nothing happened. Did he wash up and got rid of all the blood too? Were there no more blood splatters on his face, hands or clothes? Did he forget it happened? Did he know how much I struggle with what I saw? Did he feel any remorse at all? I wondered.
Jungkook came back into my room and sat next to me on the bed. He took my wounded hand and let the fingers of his other hand softly glide over the bandage.
"Are you sensitive to blood?" He asked.
"I never was." I replied. "But since that night, I haven't really felt like my old self. This evening when we were eating I was feeling so happy and content and I almost forgot about everything for a moment. I'm sorry if I've ruined dinner." I felt sorry about a lot of other things, but there were not enough words to make that clear to him.
"Listen, you have to take some time to recover. What you have seen is traumatic at the very least. You just need time and a safe place to heal. I hope this will become a safe place for you to rest. For now of course." I saw the sincerity I heard in his words reflected in his eyes. Again I felt my heart skip a beat and I looked away as I felt my cheeks get warm.
"I will work hard on getting better." I didn't finish my full thought out loud. I will work hard on getting better and be stronger from now on.
"Can you sleep? Jimin told me about the nightmare you had this afternoon. Will you be okay?"
"I think so. I have to rest regardless, there is little choice in that." It was more of a spoken thought then a reply to his question.
"I mean... uh... do you... want... uh... me... OR JIMIN... if you want... It's okay if you don't of course... but... sleep here?" He was the most adorable man I'd ever met. He was tough when needed and I was sure he could protect me whenever I needed it. But he was young and innocent at the same time. His boyish charms melted my tormented heart. I guess he was exactly what I needed right now. "WE'LL SLEEP ON THE FLOOR!" He added much too loud. I giggled.
"It's okay. I will be fine if you are just next door, Jungkook."
