The Chase for Love

Chapter Six

Rocky's pov

"Ryder the wolves here are nice." I say.

"ok fine let me talk with Marshall." he says.

I wait anxiously as he calls Marshall via his pup pad.  Marshall arrives sleepily and I glare at him. He gulps seeing my expression.

"Marshall did you lie to get Chase in trouble?" Ryder asks his eye brow raised and his arms crossed across his chest.

I watch Marshall to see how he'd react to the question. He immediately tensed and tried to lie....AGAIN! "What a bitch." I murmur softly so no one hears me.

Marshall's pov

"Marshall did you lie to get Chase in trouble?" Ryder asks his eye brow raised and his arms crossed across his chest.

"I..I..I.." I stutter. Rocky staring at me made me uncomfortable. Especially since he seemed to be judging me and I didn't want him to think bad of me. Hell I wanted him to love me.

"Spit it out." Rocky hisses causing Ryder to glare at him.

"Fine! Fine! Fine! I lied ok! Happy now!" I growl tears threatening to spill.

"Marshall why did you lie?" Ryder asks looking disappointed in me. I made Rocky leave the room. I didn't know he was eavesdropping

"I lied because I love Rocky more then a brother. I love him like a mate. You don't know how much it hurts me. I see him constantly with Chase even if it's just playing or talking. He constantly flirts with Chase who flirts back and it breaks me inside. I've cried the past few days because of this. I went to the woods because of that. Chase called me dumb and to just get over it. I get it he was angry but I was too. And yes I broke his leg." I rant.

"Well Marshall I'm sorry but your going in the cage for a month. No missions for you. You can only come out to use the restroom, to get water and to have meals." Ryder says. "Understood?" He adds asking.

I just nod as he gently takes Chase out and puts me in locking the door. I look at Chase and I so badly want to show him who Rocky belongs to.

Rocky's pov

I listen at the door hoping to hear something good from that dally's mouth. What I hear shocks and bothers me.

"I lied because I love Rocky more then a brother. I love him like a mate. You don't know how much it hurts me. I see him constantly with Chase even if it's just playing or talking. He constantly flirts with Chase who flirts back and it breaks me inside. I've cried the past few days because of this. I went to the woods because of that. Chase called me dumb and to just get over it. I get it he was angry but I was too. And yes I broke his leg." Marshall rants to Ryder.

I sigh as I step away into the other room. I pretend I was busying myself by organizing the books on the bookshelves. I know I wasn't.

Marshall walks in looking ashamed with Ryder by his side. I watch as Ryder puts Marshall in the cage and lays Chase on his bean bag. I go over to them.

I lay with Chase but look meaningfully at Marshall.

"Listen Marshall. I know what you've done multiple times is wrong. But I don't want to lose my best friend over love. I love you like a brother. I don't know how you feel about me or anyone for that matter. Whatever happens happens." I say with a genuine smile.

I watch as Marshall cracks a small smile. "Thanks Rocky and goodnight buddy." He yawns closing his eyes.

I yawn as well and close my eyes for real and fall asleep.

Skye's pov
I couldn't sleep. Stupid Rocky. He's getting in the way of me being with Chase. I understand Chase will never love me. Why do I keep going after him then you ask. Well you see when you have a crush it feels good.

Like you need to protect them with your life and just be there for them. Through thick and thin. Maybe I'll meet another Shepard and fall in love. No one will ever compare to Chase though.

I sigh as I stare at the roof of my pup house. Maybe I could go with Zuma. No! He's a brother to me. M Marshall maybe? I mean maybe...but Everest...no she has that Husky.

I start to think of my dream from yesterday. It was super weird. I had met with this pup under a tree and we talked about how much we loved each other. I don't know who it was though.

I didn't see their eye color or fur color. Their voice didn't register. I just want love. M maybe I can n no...I can't.

A/N: Yay! Another chapter finally! It is a bit shorter but eh I'm still super proud of my book nonetheless! Also I have a question for you guys super quick.
