Virgil groaned as light shone through his purple, spider-patterned curtains. He would get up to close them, but all he wanted to do today was stay in bed. It was just one of those days, ya know? So Virgil wasn't very pleased when Patton dragged him out of his room to go for a walk.
"Pat, why are we walking?" Virgil groaned for the fifteenth time.
"Because it's nice out today," Patton replied, "and you need to get out more."
"Okay, but can we, like... walk home?" Virgil asked.
Patton frowned. He was about so say something when his phone dinged. His face immediately brightened.
"Okay Virge!" Patton said happily.
"Okay what?" Virgil said, jogging to catch up to the moral trait.
"Uh, were walking home?" Patton made a 'duh' gesture.
Virge rolled his eyes.
When Virgil reached the door, he realized that Patton was no longer behind him. He could have sworn he was there a second ago!?
"Patton!?" Virgil called out, panicking slightly.
"Its okay Virge!" Patton laughed, "I'm just petting this super poodle! His name is Makkachin!"
Virgil breathed a sigh of relief, "okay Pat."
The gloomy trait shook his head and opened the door. Oddly, all the lights were off...
"Hello?" Virgil said, "guys?"
"Surprise!"
Suddenly all the lights turned on. Roman, Logan and Patton were standing around a black and purple cake.
"Happy Birthday Virgil!" Roman exclaimed.
"Joyous celebration of the day you were born." Logan said.
"Er, Logan, that's not quite right." Patton whispered.
"Oh, well then happy birthday..." Logan flushed a little.
Virgil laughed a bit, "thanks guys... in all honesty, I kinda forgot it was my birthday."
"Oh Virge!" Patton said, pulling him into a hug.
"Its fine Pat." Virge said returning the hug, "really."
"Okay." Patton smiled, "Happy Birthday kiddo!"
