[ MADDISON ]
My delicate fingers traced along the familiar seem on my queen sized blanket. I drowned out almost anything that was going on at this exact moment. My mind scattered with the thoughts of going back. Yes, it's a place where many like me. But that doesn't mean that I like it. It's like a place where you are forced to be just because people think its will benefit your future.
"Maddison Elizabeth Bell, are you even listening!" I looked up scanning the beautiful face of my best friend Alissa. I zoomed out of my scary thinking world and into reality.
"I'm sorry. What were you saying?" I asked genuinely feeling sorry for not listening and rubbed my temples.
"I was saying how we should maybe match tomorrow" she stated with and exciting tone.
"Why is the first day of school so important! I mean we are just going back to a place where we are forced to go" i angrily said get up of my bed and walking to my desk.
"BECAUSE we're seniors! This is our final year of high school! This year is going to be epic! We're going to go to so many parties and have huge sleepovers with our new friends that I know we're going to make this year. This is going to be the best year of our stupid little lives!" She said with a chuckle, while I fiddled with things on my desk.
"Listen," she said getting up and slowly walking towards me and placing her hand on my small shoulder.
"I know your not a fan of that hell hole. I don't think anyone is. But come on if we go into this year with a smile and positivity we will have a good year" she said with a small smile.
I put my other hand on her shoulder and looked her in the eyes. She waited for me to say something not knowing wether it would be good or bad.
"Your right." I said with a smile. She looked at me confused.
"I'm always right... what's the catch? You never agree that easily." She said while giving me the same look she gave me earlier.
"LETS HAVE FUN BITCHES!!!" I yelled as loud as I could with a huge smile.
She laughed and jumped up and down from excitement.
"So that means we can match?!" She said questioning me.
"Nope not doing that." I said laughing.
"Worth a try" she laughed and we hugged and fell on the bed.
These are the nights that I lived for in summer. Me, Alissa, and kian just having the best fun we've ever had. The three am ice cream runs, running around the movie theater if we're the only ones there, blaring music while Speeding down the street at two in the morning! This summer was the best and I'm just not ready for it to be over.
