Damon’s POV

“Rita just texted me,” I murmured through munching on my crunchy salad that no joke, seemed bloody endless. Danielle’s eyes popped open slowly as she bit into her Yorkshire puddings.

“Really...any updates?” She nervously questioned before she wiped away the beef gravy on her bottom lip with her napkin.

“Apparently she’s been let out...” I stated as I dropped my jaw slightly staring at the phone screen that lay in the palm of my hand, wow, I should’ve believed her when she said she had a way with men, because in all sincerity, I’ve known Rita for years now, I think it’s fair to say she’s not always the happiest and cheeriest of the bunch. I gazed at Danielle for a few seconds, she merely furrowed her eyebrows.

“Wow, seriously?!” She enquired with shock spouting out through her tone. I slowly nodded, and my jaw dropped even further when I read the next part of her text. Liam is picking her up. Okay, serious plot twist. I chuckled with astonishment, choking on my lettuce.

“Damon, what’s happened?! Where is she? God, learn to eat slowly next time.” Danielle barked worryingly as she reached over and patted my back, I flashed her thumbs up.

“I’m fine, no, I just need to learn to never even stop and think about getting salad, because all I do is stuff it in my mouth hoping it will vanish soon enough.” I tittered, half coughing, Danielle giggled whilst she shook her head.

“But that’s not the worst part; apparently Liam is picking her up from the station.” I bellowed in disbelief trying to recover from my frantic coughs, Danielle’s mouth formed into a perfect ‘o’.

“So that must mean Tweedledum and Tweedledee were actually successful on sorting this out.” She sluggishly realised, one corner of her mouth slanted upwards in puzzlement.

“Hmm...I don’t know, I don’t think Liam would ever suddenly change his mind like that, and also I received this text fifteen minutes ago, and it only takes about 5 minutes to get to the nearest station from here...” I continued as I took a sip of my diet coke, Danielle shook away her thoughts.

“So wait, you think she got kidnapped?” Danielle sardonically joked, as she quirked an eyebrow.

I rolled my eyes, “No, you plonker, I think she went somewhere” I thought for a second, “Possibly with Liam...”

“I definitely know that after Liam called the feds, her hate for him would have already hit the maximum.” She stated as she finished up her second helping of today’s special. God knows how she does it, keep her figure so amazingly beautiful, and yet she eats house after house, elephant after elephant.

“Oh, and I hate to say this babe…but I think her hate for you has hit the maximum.” I told her as politely as I could, as I flickered my phone screen in her direction, showing her the many ranting texts Rita had sent me, I gazed as Danielle’s eyes followed the words, her expression changing each time.

“That bitch!” She yelled as she grabbed the phone out of my hand, and the sudden glint of ferocity twinkled within her big golden spheres.

“Dani, calm down, give me the phone back-“ I stuttered as I attempted to haul it back, her lips were pursed and her shaking hands began to type away on my phone.

“I do not have a big mouth thank you very much, I am not two faced.” She raged whilst she typed away, her left arm blocking me from getting it, I nodded slowly and tried to calm her down, after a few seconds of slapping away my hands I managed to retrieve my phone.

She crossed her arms abruptly, and stared at me with anger. I held my hands up in surrender before I spoke again, checking she hadn’t sent anything off.
