Run.
That's all I knew I could do. Fight through the forest, the wind, the rain. And you'll make it out. So far, I only made it out past the guards.
Sprinting through the mud, I notice a flash of white uniforms to my right.
'Crap they've got my scent'
Skidding to a stop I change my path and bolt left, the undergrowth tore at my legs. But I couldn't stop, not now. Finally my legs gave out, landing me flat in a meadow of death. My breath was short, my chest was burning, my legs and arms were weak. No matter how much I tried. I couldn't get myself up. Instead I rolled over.
I was going to die here.
"I'm so sorry Joey"
Tears blurred my vision as I stared up at the clouds, somehow the sky seemed brighter, more blue as I neared the end. A wobbly grin cracked on my face as the sound of footsteps came closer, I never even got to see how my little brother grew up. Swallowing down my fear I close my eyes and listen to the sound of the trees. Cracking with the wind, as the light grew darker. The wind. Why is it so loud?...
An animalistic snarl echoed from my left, making me snap open my eyes with fright.
'That wasn't a keeper-'
Eyes wide I turn my head to the left where nothing but the trees stood, unnerved I glance to my right to just see the keepers dysfunctioned jaw unhinge as they pounced on me. I barely had time to react before they were upon me.
"RAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHH!!!"
The bone chilling cry froze us all, my mouth half dropped open in a scream, the keepers teeth had grazed my throat, dripping crimson down my top. We all turned our heads towards the owner, where it stood, my whole body froze in sheer terror.
'What is that thing?'
I had a second to blink before that, that thing, threw itself at the keeper on top of me. Slamming its body into the trees, making the branches quiver. I find the strength to scramble backwards as it snarled at the keepers stunned faces, launching forward off its huge haunches to latch its teeth onto them. Beginning to tear and rip apart the keepers bodies one by one.
the fuck is happening right now
The air in my lungs seemed to whoosh out all at once, the creatures face was twisted into that of a sick grin. It was enjoying killing those fuckers. So what would happen to me when he realized I was still here, I didn't want to find out anytime soon. My brain locked into overdrive zooming in close on it's movements, watching it as I slowly shuffle through the grass. Adrenaline was pumping in my ears as the keepers blood flowed down the trees, painting the black over with red. I keep shuffling backwards until my back hits the solid surface of a tree, having it my back soothed me for a little while. That was until, I felt a cold trickle down my temple. I flinch as another drop rolls down my cheek, my hand swipes at it bringing it close to my face.
"Saliva? oh fuck.."
I felt the blood drain from my face as an echo of a keepers snarl drew my attention upwards, into the high branches of the tree. To which the mangled body of a keeper glared straight at me, my heartbeat was in my throat as I froze upon watching this creature struggling to move. The features of its face was mauled in three shreds. Two set of razor sharp teeth clearly shown among the bloody gums and flesh. The keepers eyes were wild with fury. It was still alive, though its legs were tangled in the branches above. Keeping it trapped upside down. The more it fought against the tree, the harder the branches shook. Raining blood and saliva down on my shaken form, it snarled again wriggling so violently it fell down a few inches.
