Chapter 13: The 11:11 Prayer!!

Sanskar's study

Swara: Sansk...(interrupted)

Sanskar: Not again, Shona! You're behaving like a kid.

Swara: (standing akimbo with narrowed eyes) And now I'm a kid, right? You know what... Keep that shit to yourself... I'm going.

Sanskar: (sighing) You know that it's not shit, Shona! Just that you are disturbing me...

Swara: And you are ignoring me!

Sanskar: (avoiding her eyes) And who gave you this baseless idea?

Swara: No one... I have my own pair of eyes which were functioning pretty well the last time I checked...

Sanskar: (with raised eyebrows) Was I supposed to laugh on this?

Swara: No, you weren't. You were supposed to come with me and Mom to the wedding.

Sanskar: For the last time, Shona, I'm not coming. I have work.

Swara: If you haven't forgotten, I know what all the works you have. I'm the MD of the company, remember??

Sanskar: I know that... Now, will you please leave me so that I can work? And before you ask again, I'm not coming with you guys to that wedding...

Swara: You know what, go to hell... I don't care. Stick with that laptop and those files, marry them and then have kids with them too.

Sanskar: (confused) Where did this come from?? Shon...

And he was interrupted when she left the study room not before banging the door. He could see that she was pissed off completely... But then he couldn't take the risk with her. He would not get the time to do his personal work if he went with her to the wedding. Sighing, he just closed his files and laptop and put his palms on his face murmuring

Sanskar: (murmuring) I'm sorry, Shona... But this is necessary. And in no way will I ever ignore you. You are my world!!

Swara's POV

What the hell is wrong with this guy? One day, he is cuddling and sleeping on my lap, having nightmares and the next day I wake up, I find him ignoring me. Every night, I go to his room at midnight just to check if he is fine or not and what puzzles me is that if he is fine, why is he ignoring me? He has become so stoic that for once I even believed that he isn't the person I literally know like the back of my hands. I seriously need to do something, otherwise, I don't know what will happen. I just pray that it's nothing serious and he gets back to his normal self as soon as possible... I need my Sansku back...

Her monologue is broken by Sharmishtha.

Sharmishtha: (concerned) Shona, what happened? Why are you crying, beta?

Swara: I'm crying??

And when she lifts her hands to her cheeks, she sees a teardrop rolling from her left eye. She wipes it, but the next tear rolls down from her right eye and slowly, she is actually sobbing while wiping her cheeks, simultaneously. Tears of sadness are painful, but tears of helplessness and frustration are worst. It shows how some things are far beyond your control.

Sharmishtha: (holding her hands to prevent her from wiping her tears) Shona? Is it Sanskar?

Swara: (hiccupping) How do you know, Mom?
