After the video was wrapped up, Aaliyah and her entourage had to get back to the airport and fly all the way in Miami, Florida.
Aaliyah and her crew boarded Cesena plane for herself, the crew, and the equipment.
After the music video "Rock The Boat" has been wrapped up for Aaliyah, her and the record company employees had completed the video, they boarded a twin-engine Cessna 402B (registration N8097W) at the Marsh Harbour Airport, Abaco Islands, The Bahamas for the return trip back to Opa-Locka Airport in Florida.
The return flight was originally booked for the following day, but filming has finished early and Aaliyah and her entourage were eager to return to the U.S.
They made the decision to leave immediately. The aircraft designated for the return flight was smaller than the one on which they had originally arrived, but it accommodated the whole party and all of their equipment.
About 200 feet (60m) from the runaway, the plane crashed.
Aaliyah, her hair stylists Eric Foreman & Anthony Dodd, her bodyguard Scott Gallin, family friend Keith Wallace, her make up artist Christopher Maldonado, the Blackgroud Records employees Douglas Kratz & Gina Smith and the pilot Luis Morales were all killed.
