Things escalated and soon Geno found himself lying on the ground with Reaper on top of him. Reaper's kisses started to move from his mouth to his cheek to his vertebrae, and then the death god started to tug at his shirt as if to take it off. At that point, Geno gripped the white fabric shyly and tucked his head into his scarf.
"N-not like this, Reaper," he whispered. "Not in front of the souls."
Reaper lifted his head and looked at the few dozen souls that had been nearby and gathered to watch. "Heh. What's wrong? They'll forget they ever saw it when they decide to move on."
"It's embarrassing," Geno whined. "I want to do it on a bed—in a house! Not on the ground out in the open."
Reaper sat up and lent a hand to pull Geno up as well. "But I don't have a house," he acknowledged. It had never bothered him before, but maybe it was about time he got one. "You want one, huh?"
Geno smiled and nodded, a fresh flush coming to his face. "The three of us can live there together. We can play games in the living room, sleep on proper beds... I've gotten used to not having much after spending so much time in the save screen, but you and Death deserve so much more than cold hard ground to sleep on."
Reaper put his hands in his lap and sighed. "Fine already. I'll ask the few gods who don't hate me for some help making a house down here."
Geno put his arms around the death god in a hug and nuzzled his face into Reaper's shoulder. "You actually have friends besides me and your brother? How come I've never seen them?"
"We're not really friends," Reaper scratched his hood. "Well, maybe we are. I got a little chummy with the goddess of life a while back. She and the god of the sky had a falling out. I found her hiding spot and didn't tell him about it." Reaper chuckled, "I ended up using it as my hiding spot too so I could slack off. We joked around some together and she doesn't hate me like she used to." He held up two skeletal fingers and looked at the ceiling, "Then there's the god of magic. He actually made my brother and I, so he's sort of like our dad. He says he's not, though, and he prefers to keep our relationship business-only. Still, he appreciates the work we do and doesn't find us disgusting for being born from darkness." He held up a third finger, "Last is the god of the hearth. He's a quiet, reliable guy. No matter what, he stays neutral, so he's never been bad to my brother and I. He's also just a nice guy in general."
"You think those three will help us make a house?" Geno asked. His eyes were wide and hopeful.
Reaper hesitated and shook his head. "Grillby, the god of the hearth, might help, but I wouldn't count on the other two. The god of magic, Gaster, is way too busy, and Toriel, the goddess of life, can't set foot in the underworld."
Geno started to look downcast, so Reaper quickly tried to cheer him up. "Hey, it's fine! Grillby will help as long as I ask nicely enough! And he's the god of the hearth! Who better to make a nice cozy house for us?"
The mortal's expression lightened up. "Alright. The next time you go out, you should ask him about it."
Reaper wiggled out of Geno's hug and stood up, picking his scythe up off the ground. "I'll go ask him about it now," he said.
"Right now? There's no real hurry."
Reaper looked down at his mortal lover, his eyes sparkling with laughter, and grinned widely. "'Course there's a hurry. I caught love sickness thanks to you. Pretty sure it's fatal, and the only cure is to have sex as soon as possible with the person I caught it from."
Reaper winked and Geno broke down into a fit of laughter.
"I keep seeing an angel in white; I'm not sure how much longer I have."
Geno tipped back and rolled on the ground, clutching his nonexistent stomach. "Reaper, heh heh heh! You're killing me!"
"Heh heh," Reaper's grin widened and he started to float off the ground. "I've got an errand to run, but you can fall into death's embrace as soon as it's over."
"Heh heh heh heh! O-okay," Geno wiped a tear from his socket and smiled up at his lover. "I'll be waiting."
