Karaoke Night

Hey guys, I'm sorry I haven't posted anything new for a while, but I've been distracted by two things: family things, and I was watching a lego series I'd never watch before and liked. Sorry about that. Hope you're all having a great New Year so far. 🥳😉😊

It was Friday and Nya was helping Jay and Lloyd fix Jay's mech. They had spent all week on it and it still wouldn't start. But they were doing a great job putting it back together.

"Are you guys done yet, it's almost time to go." Kai wined, waiting for them to finish.

"Just five more minutes Kai, then we can go." Nya said, not looking away from the part she was fixing.

Kai groaned as Cole and Zane entered the room. They looked ready to go too.

"You guys are still working on the mech, I thought I'd be done by now." Cole said.

"Well, Garmadon's goons messed it up a lot more than we thought," Lloyd said, climbing off of the mech. "We'll look at it more tomorrow."

They all walked to Laughy's, but once they got there, Jay didn't go in. He waited outside on the sidewalk.

"Are you coming, Jay?" Lloyd asked, holding the door open. Jay didn't even turn around, and it looked like he was looking for someone.

"In a minute, I'm waiting for Emily to arrive." He said. Lloyd grinned and walked inside.

Jay told the other ninja about the new girl he had met and invited to Laughy's, but all of them -except Nya and Zane- had thought he had made her up. They also made bets on what would happen tonight.

Cole and Kai both betted on Jay paying a girl to pretend to be Emily, Lloyd had betted that Jay would make an excuse for her being absent, and Nya and Zane betted on Emily being real and showing up.

But instead of betting money, they all decided to make things more interesting, plus, none of them had money. The losers all had to do what the winners say for a whole week without complaining. They all agreed.

"Is he waiting for his imaginary girlfriend?" Kai asked as Lloyd came in without Jay.

"Yeah, but he'll probably be making an excuse in a few minutes." Lloyd said, looking confidently at the clock on the wall.

"Well, maybe he will walk in with a girl, but she will just pretend to be Emily." Cole said, also looking confident.

"Or perhaps, Jay was telling the truth and she will be arriving soon" Zane suggested.

"Yeah, and maybe a magical pirate genie will try to take over Ninjago in a bunch of flying sky ships and try to marry my sister." Kai said sarcastically.

"Why don't you believe Jay?" Nya asked, ignoring her brother's comment.

"It's not that we don't like Jay, but maybe he thinks he needs to impress us and is making up having a girlfriend." Cole said, looking a little guilty at thinking that.

"Okay, one, he said that they're just good friends, and two, he knows he doesn't have to lie to us to impress us." Nya said, defending Jay.

Jay was waiting outside of Laughy's when he felt a hand on his shoulder and a familiar voice say, "Hey Jay,"

He turned and saw Emily. She was wearing a long sleeved yellow shirt and a pair of blue jeans. He long blonde hair was down, like always, and she had a very cute smile on her face.

"Hey Emily," Jay said, after he realized that he was staring, "Glad you made it."

"Sorry I'm late, but my dad wanted me to help him unpack some stuff before I left." Emily told him as they entered Laughy's. Jay waved at his friends and they all started at him in disbelief.

"Well, we all now know that Lloyd guessed wrong." Kai said as Jay and Emily walked over to them.

"Hey guys, meet Emily." Jay said,

"Hey," Emily said, flashing a small smile.

"It's nice to meet you, Emily," Lloyd said, smiling, even though he lost the bet.

"Nice to meet you too, Lloyd." Emily said.

"You know our names?" Kai asked.

"Yeah, Jay described all of you perfectly." She said, pointing to Lloyd, Kai, Cole, Zane, and, finally, Nya. "Lloyd, Kai, Cole, Zane, and Nya."

"That's correct," Zane said, smiling at her.

"Well, it's pretty easy since Jay talks about you guys all the time." Emily said, smiling at Jay.

"Well, like Lloyd said, it's nice to meet you." Nya said, smiling brightly at Emily.

"Now, lets get this karaoke night started." Kai said.

For the rest of the night, the ninja and Emily had fun. They each sang a song on their own and Cole made made everyone laugh when he sang a Taylor Swift song. And everyone seemed to like Emily.

Just before they were about to leave, Emily pulled Jay aside. She was blushing madly and asked, "Do you want to sing one last song together?"

Jay could feel his cheeks getting hot, 'Did she just ask me to sing with her?' He thought.

"You don't have to if you don't want to." Emily said quickly, blushing harder.

"No, I'd love to sing one last song with you." Jay said. That's all it took for Emily to get a huge smile on her face. She immediately grabbed Jay's hand and over to the machine.

"What song do you want to sing?" Emily asked.

Jay thought for a minute, then thought of one of his favorite songs. "Want to do the 'Weekend Whip'?" He asked.

"I love that song." Emily said. Soon they were both singing it and having a good time, while the ninja were having a good time as well. Well, most of them anyway.

"I told you Emily was real." Nya said, smirking at how she and Zane won the bet.

After a while of getting to know Emily, it became clear that Jay didn't pay a girl to pretend. She was clearly a real person. Which made Nya and Zane the winners of the bet, so Cole, Kai, and Lloyd would have to do whatever they said for a whole week.

"Yeah, yeah, you were right," Kai said, annoyed that he lost. "But are you sure you're okay with this?"

"Okay with what?" Nya asked, confused by what her brother was implying.

Kai looked at Cole, who was smirking, and said, "It's obvious that Emily likes Jay, like, likes him likes him."

"So what?" Nya asked.

"Are you going to be okay with that?" Cole asked.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Nya asked again, growing annoyed.

"Come on Nya, it's obvious Jay had a crush on you." Lloyd said, joining in on the conversation. "We're asking if you'll be alright with him liking another girl."

Nya was very shocked. Had Jay liked her and she just never realized it? She thought back to all the times he would say nice things about her and try and help her with her mech building. Then, Nya realized she hadn't answered their question.

"If Jay likes Emily, then he can date her. I am not jealous." Nya said, looking back over at Jay and Emily together. "Not at all."
