The clock struck exactly the two hours that had passed. I was supposed to be home but here I stood in front of the two men that came to make my life almost a living hell.

Blade was staring hardly at Caleb and if I wasn't so sure that he can mantain his calm, he would be beating the hell out of him right now. These two can't seem to understand eachother despite all the common aspects they share.

" Ignore your ego for once, Carter. " Caleb spat loudly and it was obvious how fast his irritation was growing towards his lifetime enemie. " It's unsual enough that she heard one of the agents talking about a location that isn't related to any case being solved. "

Caleb was attempting to defend my credibility and I was thankful because I was nothing but a mere newbie in Blade's eyes. It would take me a much bigger effort to be understood.

" For what I know this woman might be lying for her own sake. " Blade's words hit my like ice cold water and for the second time today I could feel myself growing angry instead of hurt. I could do anything but lie for my own sake and sacrifice a thousand of lives. His accusations were ridiculous and weren't sustained by any valid argument besides the fact that this man hates me for no apparent reason.

" I'll endure anything but not your accusations! " Finally my voice boomed through the room and sudenly the pair of jade green eyes were focused on me and my every move.

" Get out, Caleb. " His words were short and sharp taking both me and Caleb by surprise. Why would he want caleb to get out?

Caleb took some steps towards the door and opened it. His gaze was still clouded with fury while he stomped securely on his place. He seemed to understand something that I didn't because he stared at me momentarely and that made me confused.

" I'll waste no time to put a bullet through your leg if you lose your composure. " Blade ignored his words completely and the moment the door closed his strong and tall body was hovering over my petite figure.

My once confused expression disapeared completely as I took some steps backwards in attempt to mantain some distance between our bodies. My back collided against the wall and he easily cornered me. Just what was he doing?

Hurriedly I pressed both my hands against his chest, my eyes locking with his. He stared down at me and one of his hands grasped my hip making a gasp abandon my lips. His cologne was intoxicating because of how close he was to me but I wasn't capable of muttering a word.

" I don't tend to be as patient as I'm being with you. " His lips were dangerously close to my ear making me shiver as his hoarse voice sounded slowly. " You want to help so much that it came to the extent that Caleb came here to put some sense into me? "

He was mocking me with those questioning words. As If I wasn't capable enough of coming on my own term without needing anyone to stick up for me but truth was that he wouldn't listen to me. Either he was being stubborn or he didn't really trust me. Even if those accusations were serious could I really blame him for not trusting me?

Of course you can! My inner thought answered. He holds grudges and doubt towards almost anyone but would he seriously believe that I could lie for the sake of having a thousand of deaths being reported on the news the next day? I find myself not trusting easily but not to this extent. It was too much.

" Mock me until you are satisfied but I'm not backing down. I'm entrusting you this information because I want nothing but those people to be safe. If I was untrustworthy I would be home by now and maybe tomorrow some bombs would go off. " I replied stubbornly. My eyes glued to his electrifying green ones and I could barely read his expression. It was now blank and deceiving. Was he second guessing his decision?
