" Ivy. "
I inevitably fell soundlessly asleep for what seemed like hours waiting for some heart reassuring news. But still I made out a male voice that called my name or was it a dream?
My head rested comfortably against the couch and I was strangely warm. I didn't remember covering myself with the blanket that now rested over my tired body.
" Ivy. "
Once again I heard a male voice calling out to me and now I was sure that I wasn't hearing things. Slowly I got up from the comfortable position just to be face to face with an agent I don't recall having seen yet.
He must have noticed the confusion that took over my expression because now a small smile was plastered over his face.
Surely this police unit not only has professionaly well trained agents but also some handsome ones. The unknown agent was breathtakingly handsome. He has dark dazzling brown eyes that look directly at me and his facial expression was nothing but serene despite the constant hard work he must go through. No signs of tiredness at all. But still nothing compared to Blade's unique traces.
Blade? Suddenly I'm reminded of him and the mission. Were they back yet?
" Sorry I woke you up. Mr.Gibson is constantly worried over his agents and sent me to come see you and make sure you were alright. " His voice was deeper than I thought it would be but the gentleness was noticeable. Unlike most of the other agents he is really friendly and careful while speaking.
I was considering if I should ask about Blade or not. It would most likely sound strange because it would seem like I was only worried about him and not the others but I needed to make sure that I was right and I didn't made a mistake to have Mr.Gibson order him to send agents to the exact location.
" I'm alright. Thank you for coming see me. " I didn't knew his name so I muttered a simple thank you in return for his action.
" Derek Hart. " As if reading my mind he spoke out his name almost immediately.
" Ivy Barringer. " A small smile was also displayed on my lips as I stared at him before getting fully up from the couch.
As I got out from the room, Derek followed right behind me. Both hands burried in his pockets while he stared ahead. I didn't question him because after some minutes of walking he turned to another hall, parting ways from me.
I was walking slowly until I heard two agents on their thirties exchanging words that made my body freeze completely.
" A agent was severely injured during the shooting. I heard that it was Carter."
I clearly made out those words and almost couldn't breath. Blade was shot? For a moment I couldn't seem to move, if he really was shot I was afraid that he would somehow blame me. But my bigger worry was that he could be really hurt.
Some agents passing by gave me weird looking stares but I couldn't seem to mind about it. Consumed with concern I forced my legs to take me to Mr.Gibson's office. Surely he would have some news about Blade.
As I was reaching my destination I stopped once again on my tracks. My gaze focusing on two familiar masculine figures that were talking. I immediately recognized Blade's back and let out a sigh I didn't know I was holding. He was safe.
" Despite the fact that she was right about the location I'm not willing to give her my trust, Sir. " I could hear Blade's hoarse voice from the distance that separated us. His body was tense and I understood the reason. They were talking about me, there was no other person that he didn't trust besides me.
