Since the judge left, everyone went outside for a break.This situation caused Mayor Jones pain and misery, but Mark was his son, and he was proud to hear that he accepted his crime, he was ready to be changed.
"Excuse me, the judge is ready" The officer called them inside the courtroom.
It was the time...Everyone made it back inside and the stairs to the court room, as they fill the room again.They jury were talking among themselves.The same two police officers were walking Mark back in the courtroom, to his seat.
"Have you reached a verdict?" The judge asked glancing over at the jury.
"We have, your honor" They jury fore-person replied.
"What you decided then?" The judge asked.
"We the jury, in the case of Mayor's son; Mark Jones killing his girlfriend, find the defendant guilty of the charge of attempting killing and using illegal things." The jury replied.
"Mark Jones, please rise.I now sentence you to life with parole, with 10 years.With good behavior, 8 years with life parole" The judge announced.
"Thank you jury, for your service today.Court is adjourned" The judge said as he banged his gavel and disappeared.
The case was closed.The same two police officers took Mark to police car and took him to jail.
Mrs Michelle walked by Mr Joseph after everybody left the room, except Mr Joseph, his advocate, Garcia, Mrs Sonya and Mayor Jones.Garcia told the twins and their friends to leave back home.He stayed there, because Joseph was his friend, since High School.
Mrs Sonya walked by Mrs Michelle and shook her hand "Congratulations on getting this, you really were great in your work" She smiled.
"Thank you, you were great too, there just was nothing to protect, it was impossible and that's respectable of you, taking that hard job" Michelle answered.
"I'm sorry for your loss Mr Joseph" Joseph nodded with his head. "It was nice working with you Mayor, now I have nothing to do here, I'll leave" Sonya shook their hands and left.
"I'm sorry for what my son had done to your daughter.I can't bring her back, but I can help you with anything you need." Mayor talked suddenly.
"Yes, you can't bring my daughter back, but at least your son accepted his crime, I don't need anything else, and try to stay away from me and my family.I'm calm right now, but I don't know what can happen on the next second" He turned his head and looked at Garcia." Now let's leave, Garcia." Garcia shook Mayor's hand and left with Mrs Michelle and Joseph.
"Michelle, thank you for your work" Said Joseph.
"That was my job, I had to do it.Mia is my sister's daughter, if I didn't do this, I would stop respecting myself" Said Michelle and left.
"Let's go,Garcia" Joseph said and they left.
