"Can I ask you something?"

Rory looked up at the boy who was walking through the mall beside her – Stiles had called into Vangie's that afternoon as Rory's shift was ending, pleading with her to help him find Lydia a birthday present, something Rory was all too willing to help with.

"Of course, you can" Rory responded with a small shrug.

"Do you know anything about the uh, the, you know..." Stiles awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck,
"The other night, at the warehouse, you had the eyes and the magic wind"

Rory chuckled slightly before nodding gently,
"A little, but there isn't much out there about people who can move things with their mind, change the weather or make things explode and have glowing blue eyes. Most of the books I've found call it witchcraft"

"Does that make you a witch?" Stiles questioned in curiosity.

"I think so" Rory answered with an unknowing shrug,
"I won't have any real answers until I go back to Boston"

"You're leaving?"

"Only for the summer" Rory answered as the pair sat down in the food court to eat,
"Kate's will should be finalised by then and I've still got some stuff back there, and there's a bunch of stuff about me and my father's family in the office"

"You think you got it from your father?" Stiles questioned as he shoved a fry in his mouth.

"Well, I definitely didn't get it from the family of werewolf hunters" Rory said playfully, a grin coming to her face as she picked up her chopsticks to start eating her sushi.

Stiles chuckled slightly before the pair fell into a comfortable silence that lasted a while until Stiles looked back up at brunette and questioned,
"Do you think Lydia will like her present?"

"I think she'll love her present" Rory informed him with a smile as she reached over and stole a fry.

"Hey!"

The pair made eye contact before dissolving into laughter which drew people's eyes to them, not that they noticed or cared anyway.

"Clear your schedules" Lydia announced as she flounced into Allison's room where both Argent girls were studying for Calculus together, the strawberry blonde was holding multiple bags, filled to the brim with clothes and accessories,
"This could take a while"

Both Argent's let out laughs as they made their way over Lydia who had placed all the bags down on the bed and started going through them, Allison let out a small laugh as she tiled her head at all the clothes,
"How many outfits do you plan on wearing tonight?"

"It's my birthday party, Allison" Lydia said as if it were obvious as she ruffled through the bags,
"I'm thinking host dress, evening dress, then, after-hours casual"

Allison hesitated for a moment as Rory smiled and helped Lydia go through the clothing,
"I noticed that you didn't send out any invites"

Lydia and Rory both glanced over at Allison, although Rory's glanced was more pointed than Lydia's.

"It's the biggest party of the year, Allison" Lydia said with a subtle smirk,
"Everyone's coming"

"Well, I was wondering if maybe this year things, you know, might be different" Allison said slowly, attempting to shrug nonchalantly while her cousin shook her head in exasperation.

"Why would anything be different?" Lydia questioned sharply, oblivious to the undertone that Allison had.

"Just cause, things have been off lately. Things and people" Allison commented,
"Like Jackson"
