The picture above is not mine, I'm not talented enough for that. Shout out to superlex135 for drawing it. 😁😋👍 And just a heads up, there is a Stan Lee cameo in this chapter.
The second half of this chapter was rewritten on 10/6.My eyes grew wide at what I see tangled in the roots. A blue boy. The roots glowed light blue and retracted from the boy, leaving him drifting. It's like it was telling me to take him. Then the voice echoed in my mind. "Don't be afraid. Take the boy. Care for him as if he were your own. He is the key to our future."
Oddly, that eased me enough to swim forward and wrap an arm around the boys torso. Holding him tightly I swam to the surface and drew in a deep breath. I'm met with a panicked Andra and Addis. Getting to shore, Addis grabs my hand and hoists me up while Andra takes the boy.
"Are you alright?" Addis asked.
"Yes I'm ok. What about the boy?" I ask looking to the boy in Andra's arms. The boy couldn't be older than 12. His skin is blue and covered in patterns. His hair is white with a gray stripe down the middle. However, none of those got my attention. What got my attention was the dark brown cloak on his shoulders. The same one I wore when I last fought on these grounds.A memory flashed through my mind. To the little boy I helped and rescued.
"Uh, guys?" Addis spoke from behind us.
"Yeah?" Turning to him, he looked as if he saw a ghost. Following his gaze to the top of a cliff my heart dropped. On the cliff stood three orcs. Out of everything we planned, we didn't think of the one thing we're running from. "Run!!" I shouted. Andra had already threw the boy over her shoulder and took off with Addis and I hot on her heels. The orcs didn't hesitate to chase us."Guys! I got a plan, but you're not going like it!" Addis shouted over our loud footsteps.
"Whatever it is, do it! Anything is better than running senseless!" I shouted back. He grinned. I'm not going to like this. "Follow me!" he shouted making a sharp turn. We were running towards the end of a cliff. I was starting to get nervous, but I trusted my brother. Addis sprinted and jumped off. No time to hesitate. Andra and I followed suit.
Even though I trusted him I screamed, "Addis I'm going to kill you if we don't die!"
"Have a little faith!" Addis shouted humorously. His face went from humor to seriousness. "Enya I'm going to require your assistance!"
"How!?" I shouted back.
"Just follow my lead!"Light illuminated around him and even though I can only see his back I could tell his tattoo was glowing from his chest. We were inching closer to the ground. Addis held out his hands and a portal appeared below us. I caught on and mimicked him to expand it since we were kinda spread out. We landed in water. I swam to the surface and frantically looked around. Then two heads shot up followed by loud gasps. I looked and saw that we landed in a waterfall. I recognized the waterfall. It's the same one we went to when we evacuated Eliora. As soon as I collect myself I smack Addis on the back of the head.
"That's for scaring the shit out of us!" Addis rubbed the back of his head.
"Well it was either that or 'running senseless'." He defended. I sighed.
"Whatever." I walked over to Andra who had laid the boy down."Who do you think he is?" Andra asked. "We'll talk about this later. Right now we need to get back to the house." I stated.
Addis carried the boy back since the boy was too cold for Andra. We laid him on the couch and I lit a fire in the fire place. The blue boy laid so still you would think he's dead. A blanket covered his small frame. It didn't take a genius to know he's a frost giant. There was nothing for us to do but wait till he wakes up. We kept each other entertained by doing our own thing or talking to one another, It was mostly us talking amongst each other.
