"So what have we learned?" my best friend Zac asked as he sipped delicately on his milkshake. He had been listening to me rant for 30 minutes straight. Thankfully he was used to it and it didn't bother him. Unfortunately he knew me so well he always knew what to say. And he wasn't always on my side.

"I might have overreacted just a tiny bit," I replied, my face pressed against the surface of the table we sat at. Zac was one of my closest friends with the only one closer being my sister. He was the only friend that I told my problems to outside of my household. And 9 times out of 10 his advice was spot on.

"So what are you going to do when you get home?"

My head shot up and I glared at him. "I'm not going to apologize if that's what you're thinking. She kept this a secret from me. What if I had wanted to go into acting too?"

"Did you?"

"That's besides the point."

"Pretty sure that's exactly the point."

I put my head back onto the table. The last thing I wanted to do was apologize. I may have overreacted but I still had a reason to be mad. "I just wish she had told me," I whispered into the table.

"Maybe this is why she didn't tell you. You guys have done the twin thing for so long. It's probably hard for her to imagine doing something without you involved too. But her dreams are big enough that she's not letting her fears get in the way. Now the question is are you letting your fears get in your way?"

"Have you met me? Of course I am," I retorted. I hated it when he was right.

"Good progress. Now can I call this bitch and bring her here so you two can resolve this or are you going to continue to whine? I can give you the same advice in more colorful but ultimately identical ways but that's not going to help anyone."

I grunted my approval. Zac called my sister and gave her our location. Twenty minutes later she arrived at the cafe and came straight for us. She had only gotten halfway before a cafe patron approached her and requested an autograph. I tried to hide my hurt expression but Zac saw through my shield. It wasn't like I had been sitting there for an hour or anything.

The girl asked Valerie a bunch of questions while she waited for her signature. Once she had gotten the autograph the girl came over and asked for mine as well. I earned a grand total of zero questions and instead was greeted by her looking around trying to find her friends. I tapped her on the shoulder and handed back her notebook. She took it, thanked me, and then ran off to rejoin her friends.

"Sorry I'm late. Uncle Travis and I had to go sign some paperwork," Valerie said as she took a seat.

"So you're really doing this?" I asked as I stared holes into the tabletop.

"Yes Vanessa, I'm really doing this. The press release goes out tomorrow morning."

I sighed. Then I looked up and gave my sister the biggest fake smile I could muster. "Well I'm happy for you."

"We both know you don't mean that," Valerie commented.

"Oh please. She's trying her hardest to see things through your eyes so do her a favor and realize just how hard this actually is for her," Zac snapped as he reached across the table and grabbed my milkshake.

Valerie shrugged and said, "Alright fine. The movie doesn't begin filming for a couple months but there's a meet and greet for the cast and crew tonight. Do you two want to come?"

Zac slammed my empty milkshake container onto the table. "Just tell me what time to be ready."
