Pandora:

I spread out my midnight wings as I fall through fluffy white clouds, though I don't particularly enjoy flying through them as they are soaking my clothes and taste like dirt every time I open my mouth. Struggling a bit, I roll over so I am falling face down, allowing my wings to slow my decent a little better. I am still going too fast and I'm not quite strong enough (although I'll never admit that) to stop myself and just fly. The cold wind lashes at my face, whipping my hot-pink streaked hair behind my falling form. I break through the clouds to see a dark green blob of land quickly approaching... I'm still going a lot faster than I thought!

Finally, I hit the ground, although it wasn't very gracefully. I may or may not have crashed through the branches and landed on my face. Rolling over, I look around at my new surroundings, still on the ground, 'cause I really don't feel like getting up yet. I'm in a forest. There's a lot of trees (no duh, It's a forest).

I still don't want to get up, but I do anyway, slowly moving to my knees, aches shooting through my body. Then it hits me: I've ruined everything. My mother is gone. I'm never going to see Lily again.

I hurt my mother.

Every single negative thought I've ever had comes at me, and I fall to the ground in defeat. I cry and scream until my throat is raw and all my tears are gone. Before logic and reasoning can take back over, I've managed to run my claws over my eye, somehow not blinding myself. I start at the top of my eyebrow, and run them down to somewhere between my cheek and mouth. It hurts like a fiery burn scorching down my face in thin slices, but it's fine. It's what I deserve for hurting my mother.

Once I regain my composure, I stand up and look around, blood dripping down my face onto my chest, and decide that the best way to take in my new surroundings is to fly. So, after a few failed attempts (okay, I'll admit it, I kept getting stuck in the trees. There's a lot of them.) I manage to get above those stupid trees and fly in one direction until I reach a town, but it took forever because there really are a lot of damn trees.

I land in the middle of town and it occurs to me that my wings and bright pink tail really make me stick out among all of the poor, flightless humans. So first order of business: get something to cover my them.

Lining the streets are cart upon cart of goods, with vendors running their mini-shops. There are ones with potions, bread, weapons, armor, jewelry, herbs... Something for everyone really. Then I spot a cart carrying meat. Meattttttt!!! My stomach growls. No. Bad Pandora. Cover wings and tail first.

I eventually find a vendor that will talk to me (seriously, I'm exceed royalty! But every time I mention it the lowly humans look at me like I'm crazy. I don't get it!) and spot the perfect thing to cover me: a hot pink cloak with a hood! It's perfect! I also see the most beautiful katana in one of the weapons stands. It's pink, just like the one I used to have back home. And it's way better than my old one too... it has little pink sparkles on the hilt!

Of course, I have no money, so I decide to steal both things. Turns out, I'm really good at stealing. I chat with the vendor for a while, then get him to turn around and grab something. When he turns around, I'm gone, Everyone saw me take the cloak, but I really don't care. It's not like they can get me.

I immediately put on the pink cloak, I can't help it, it's just too perfect!

Stealing the katana was a little harder. I had to sneak up behind the stand through a dark alley directly behind it. I kind of wish pink blended into the dark a little better, but I don't really care since I got the katana as well as its sheath and the belt to hold it. Yes! Pandora 2, vendors 0.

After I've grabbed both items of my desire, I steal some random lady's wallet and buy some bacon before I hear the shouting of guards somewhere nearby. Well shit.

I quickly grab the chunk of meat and run out of town towards the forest, darting through the crowded streets.

Finally I make it out of the town and into the forest. Removing my cloak, I tuck it under my arm along with the meat. I put the katana in the belt that I slipped on as I was running. Spreading out my wings, I find a hole in the roof of branches and give a single powerful flap, sending me into the air.

So, I think, where to next?
