CHAPTER 7

     His body stung severely, his wounds throbbing. Stormstar slowly opened his eyes to see what looked like Eucalyptus, the hairless she-cat organizing herbs. Pidgeonpaw was somewhere else. "Eucalyptus," He managed to meow weakly, "Where are the others?"

    She looked over with a relaxed expression, a hint of relief in her eyes as well. "Ah, you're awake. Larchbright and Owlgaze have been tended to, and they have gone back to the warriors den. Ryeleap, however, is resting alongside you..."

    When Eucalyptus mentioned this, he turned around to see the tom with a big wad of leaves, herbs, and cobwebs on his flank. "Oh," Stormstar frowned, then looking over at the far side of the medicine den. Smallheart, the queen from ShadowClan, was resting in a nest full of feathers.

   "Oh, yes, Smallheart," Eucalyptus said after following his eyes to see what he was looking at. "She'll most likely be kitting here and then returning back to ShadowClan. We found her on our boundries, injured, if you didn't remember."

   He nodded, "Right. When will I be able to return to my den?"

"Once I know you're almost fully healed and that your wounds will not get infected."

"Oh, and one last thing... be sure to assign some warriors to keep a look-out for any suspicious activity that Opal and Tumble may stir up," He said lowly, then resting his cheek on his paw.

   Sighing, then closing his eyes. Thoughts ran through his mind, and he almost felt satisfied that the rogue was dead. The last rogue. Turns out that the stories were true of how strong he was, but Stormstar knew how much was yet to come in the remainder of his life.

    As he thought and thought, he couldn't help but realize he was getting more tired and exhausted by the second. Giving in, he then fell fast asleep, his wounds now numbed by his dreams and slumber.
