After several months of fighting, protesting, and marching Maya concluded that the government was not going to do anything. She missed her brother and, didn't know how to live without him.
"No person or thing could ever replace Harrie," she spoke, "Even if the government changes their policies it will not be enough. All I want is to have him back, and that will certainly never happen. I thought I could find closure in preventing more attacks, but I have failed. I would like to apologize. To all of you. Everyone that supports stricter gun laws, and I want to apologize to my brother. Harrie, if you are listening, I am very sorry." She began to cry once more, "I failed you. I hope one day you may forgive me."
Some may believe that Maya was saying this for attention, but she was not. She was doing this to say "goodbye." She wanted to bid farewell to all that followed her successes and failure. To tell about her final failure, as she would never protest anything again. Maya had given up all hope.
Maya had such a large following that over the course of several generations eventually, everybody had given up hope.
Children were now born into a gray world full of negativity.
