After Peter left, T'challa and I had to get down to business ASAP.
We trained, trained, and trained for hours on end.
As far as I can tell, I don't need any help in the standard combat division. However, I haven't even tried putting on my full suit yet.
OH! I forgot to say, I learned this really cool move that made T'challa so exhausted we had to take an hour long break.
~Flashback to that moment~
"C'mon Aria! You got to put up a bigger fight!" T'challa said as he swung at me.
I grabbed his arm and hooked it behind his back.
T'challa flipped his arm back and threw me to the ground.
I swung my legs around really quickly, and knocked T'challa onto the ground.
We both stood up really quickly.
I grabbed onto a pole connected to the roof, swung onto T'challa's shoulders and used my knees to shift balance on T'challa's upper half, causing him to wobble around a bit.
I hooked my right leg around his neck and knocked him to the ground.
T'challa hit the floor to signal a stop.
I helped him up.
"Jesus, Aria. You're very good at combat." T'challa said wiping sweat off of his forehead.
I laughed as I cracked my neck.
~Back to the present~
Today is the day. I'm becoming the Iron Maiden. My dad is giving me the full suit, and we are flying back to New York.
It's been weeks since being in Wakanda, and I will miss Shuri so much, but it's finally my time to shine.
I was standing outside, looking at the area surrounding me. The gorgeous nature embracing me, and the animals off in the distance running free. I wish I could stay here forever.
"You ready, kiddo?" My dad asked.
"I'm sad to leave, but i'm excited to go." I said with a sigh. "I'm just a little scared to finally be out there in the action. I know I'm ready, but I'm nervous for my first big fight. New York isn't exactly filled with just bike thieves and bank robbers. It's filled with Alien attacks and it's where twisted robots are created in my own home. I'm scared is all."
"I know, honey." My dad said pulling me into a hug. "But look at it this way. You and Peter can fight side by side. In fact, you can fight side by side with any of the Avengers."
I laughed. "Even Thor when he comes back?"
"He's been wishing to fight with you for years, baby." My dad said.
I laughed harder.
We stood in silence for a second, staring at the sunrise.
"You should go say goodbye to Shuri." My dad said.
"I know." I sighed. "I'm just going to miss her so much."
"I know." He replied. "But you need to."
"Okay." I said looking at my feet. "Meet you back out here for the flight in a few minutes."
I went inside and walked to Shuri's room.
"Shuri baby..." I said with a "sad" voice.
"Ari..." Shuri replied mirroring my tone.
We hugged and held on to each other for awhile.
"I'm gonna miss you so much." Shuri said letting a tear roll down her cheek.
"I'm gonna miss you too! But at least my nose will be safe, finally." I replied through tears.
We cut off our tears by laughing.
"I have to go." I said.
"Nooo!" Shuri replied.
"I have to, bb." I said.
"Okay." Shuri replied.
We gave each other one final squeeze.
"Bye." I said letting go of her hand.
"Goodbye." She replied with a frown.
"I'LL TEXT YOU EVERYDAY!" I yelled from the hallway.
"YOU BETTER!" Shuri replied.
I laughed as I wiped a tear off my cheek as I skipped through the halls.
Once I reached the jet, I saw T'challa.
"I'd like to thank you for being such a good friend to Shuri. I feel as if she becomes lonely sometimes." T'challa said with his hands behind his back.
"You don't need to thank me! I should be thanking you for training me and teaching me things I never knew." I said with gratitude.
T'challa offered his hand for a handshake, but I gave him a hug.
T'challa hugged me back.
"You ready to go?" My dad asked.
"No, but let's do it." I said.
We got on the jet.
As we flew off, I soaked in the environment around me. I knew this would be the last time I see Wakanda for a while.
~
Once we landed, I ran right into the arms of the Avengers that I missed so much, then to Peter who was waiting patiently for me.
I felt safe, and comfortable in his arms.
~
3 weeks later.
I put on my suit. The suit I worked so hard for, and the suit that seems molded into me. I felt at home.
Peter and I have been going strong.
I text Shuri every single morning an night.
Bry and MJ are better than ever.
Camyle started dating this wonderful guy named Amari.
Khrome and Ned started dating, surprisingly.
And I have a baby brother on the way.My life is right in the place I want it to be, and i'm so very grateful for that. But, I must go complete the duties of,
The Iron Maiden.
