The girl with the voice

Chapter 1

Owen's POV-

"Owen time to get up."I heard my mom tell me. "Do I have to?"I asked. "Yes you do. Now get up."mom said opening the curtains. I groan, get up, and walk to my closet.

I open my closet and grab a plain red shirt and a pair of my jeans and put them on. After I put them on, I put on my Adidas and walk into the kitchen.

"What do you want to drink Owen?"mom asked me just as I sat down. "Water please. And how did you know it was me you're not even facing me?"I asked her. "You're the only other person here."mom said handing me a glass of water and a plate of pancakes and some eggs. "Oh."I said. "Now hurry up and eat your breakfast before we're both late."mom said. I eat my breakfast and drink my water then mom and I walk out to the car and head to the school.

"Bye Owen."mom said. "Bye mom."I said grabbing my backpack and getting out of the car. I walk into the school and see my best friend since kindergarten, Rick, trying to get Julie to go out with him, and walk up to the 2 of them.

Julie saw me walking up to them. But I put my finger on my mouth telling her not to say anything. "Have I told you that you look beautiful today Julie?"Rick asked just as I was standing behind him. "Yes. You've been saying that since you first walked up."Julie said. "Come on Julie just say you'll go out with me."Rick said. "No."Julie said walking away with her friends. As Julie was walking away I was just standing there laughing.

Of course Rick still didn't know I was standing behind him so I decided to have a little fun. Since Rick had his backpack on I opened the zipper where Rick kept his wallet, took out $20, put his wallet back in, closed the zipper, and put the money in my pocket. I'm surprised that he didn't hear me open and close his bag.

"What's wrong Rick?"I said so he wouldn't know I was standing there the whole time. "Julie rejected me again."Rick said turning around. "How many times are going to ask her out Rick? You know she'll keep saying no."I said. "I'm telling you dude Julie is the one. I'm not going to stop until she's mine."Rick said.

2 minutes later the bell rings telling us to go class. "Come on Rick let's go to class."I said. We both walked to class and Rick was talking about Julie. I mean Rick's like my brother but if I have to hear him talk about Julie 1 more time I'll kill him.
 
By the time it was lunch Rick and I were already in the cafeteria walking up to our usual table.

"Owen want to come over after school?"Rick asked. "Sure."I said getting out my phone and headphones. "So what would you rather do go in the line and get the gross cafeteria food or sneak off campus to go get some real food?"Rick asked. "Go get some real food."I said. We both grab our bags and walk out of the cafeteria into the halls.

"Where are you 2 going?"a teacher asked sitting in the hallway reading a book. "We need to go ask a teacher upstairs something."Rick said. "Ok."the teacher said. We both walk up the stairs, and when the teacher is not looking, we walk back down the stairs and walk out the school doors.

Just as we were walking off campus, trying not to get caught, I was plugging in my headphones to my phone, and turn on the music so I won't hear Rick talk about Julie.

After a few minutes of arguing about where to eat we both decided to go to sonic.

"Owen I want you to know, that once Julie agrees to go out with me I might be spending a lot of time with her. So I've decided to help you get a girl that likes music as much as you do."Rick said after we had ordered our food. "Why?"I asked. "Because you aren't going to be the third wheel when Julie and I go out."Rick said. "That is if Julie agrees to go out with you."I said. "She will just watch."Rick said.

10 minutes later an employee arrives with our food and hands it to us. "Thank you have a good day."I told the employee after we got our food and Rick gave him the money.

When we get back to school we check to see if a teacher is in the hallway, and see that the hallway is empty. We open the doors and walk back in the school. "Where the hell have you guys been I've been looking all over for you."our friend, Kevin, said. "We went to sonic to get some food."Rick said. "Why didn't you take me?"Kevin asked. "We didn't know you wanted to go with us Kev."I said eating my fries. "The next time you 2 go off campus to get food  either wait for me and the others and ask if we want to go too. Or get food for us too."Kevin said. After Kevin was done telling us to take him with us next time we go off campus, the 3 of us decided to go outside to listen to some music and talk about stupid shit we aren't supposed to talk about in school.

"So Owen, when are you going to tell people that you sing?"Rick asked just as I was throwing my trash away. "When I feel like telling people."I said putting my headphones on so I won't have to hear them tell me that I need to tell people that I sing.

When the final bell rings I'm walking with Rick so we can go to his house, when I remember that I forgot something my locker. "I need to get something from my locker meet me outside."I said turning around to go to my locker. "Ok I'll be waiting outside."Rick said walking outside while I was walking the other way.

Once I get to my locker I open my locker and grab a plain grey jacket. I know what you're thinking 'why not just get your jacket tomorrow?' Well you see this jacket was my older brother's jacket.

As I was looking in my locker, checking to see if I needed to get anything else, I hear a girl singing voice. "You shout it out, but I can't hear a word you say. I'm talking loud, not saying much. I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose, fire away fire away. You shoot me down, but I won't fall I am titanium, you shoot me down, but I won't fall I am titanium."I hear the girl sing. I quickly turn around to see who was singing, but she was gone. I close my locker disappointed, and walk outside to meet up with Rick so we can both go to his house.

"About time. What took you so long?"Rick asked seeing me walk out of the school. "Rick, while I was checking to see what I needed to get from my locker I heard a girl singing."I said while Rick and I were walking to his house. "Was she cute?"Rick asked as we just walked off campus. "I don't know I didn't see what she looked like."I said. "What do you mean?"Rick asked. "When I turned around to see who was singing she was gone."I said. "So you don't know who she is or what she looks like."Rick said. "I just said that I don't."I said. "Damn."Rick said.

We arrive at Rick's house 20 minutes later. "Mom I'm home!"Rick said once we walked inside. Rick's mom walks in 2 minutes later with flour on her hands. "Hi Owen this is a surprise. Do you boys want anything to drink?"Rick's mom asked. "No thanks."Rick and I say at the same time. "Ok. Tell me if either of you need anything."Rick's mom said. "Ok."I said.

Rick and I both walk to Rick's room and decide to play video games. "So what are you going to do about this mystery girl?"Rick asked after we both got bored of playing video games 15 minutes later. "I don't know. But I plan on finding her."I said. "Tell me how that works out for you."Rick said.

"Ok, so I should go."I said getting up and grabbing my backpack. "Ok see you tomorrow Owen."Rick said. "See you tomorrow Rick."I said walking out of his room and then outside of the house.

Whoever you are mystery girl I will find you.
