Lexi's POV-
Once I got to class I found an empty seat in the back of the classroom and 2 minutes later Rick sits in the seat next to me.
"Hi Lexi." Rick said. "Hi." I said. "What did you say?" Rick asked shocked. "Hi." I said again. "I heard you I just wanted to hear you talk again." Rick said. "It's not like this is the first time I talked to you." I told him. "True, but you only said 1 word to me and Owen yesterday."Rick said. "You and Owen asked me what my name was and I told you." I said. "True." Rick said.
"So, do you know why we're having this singing competition?" I asked. "Well, you didn't hear it from me but Owen heard a girl singing behind him the other day and he asked Principal Adams if we could have a singing competition so he could find the her." Rick said. Julie was right. "What is Owen going to do if she doesn't sign up for the competition?" I asked. "I don't know." Rick said. "Quiet you 2 and get to work." The teacher said.
When it was last period I realized that I still need to tell Abby that she doesn't need to pick me up after school today. I walk up to the teacher's desk to ask if I can call Abby.
"What is it Lexi?" the teacher asked. "Miss, can I call my sister?" I asked. "Ok, just make it quick." the teacher said. I pull out my phone and walk into the hall.
Abby: Something wrong Lexi?
Me: No I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to Julie's house after school today.
Abby: Ok. I'll pick you up at 7:30.
Me: No.
Abby: Why not?
Me: I can walk home.
Abby: Ok I guess I'll see you at home then.
Me: See you at home Abby.
Abby: Love you baby sister.
Me: Love you too.I hang up the phone and walk back into the classroom.
When the final bell rang I grabbed my bag and walked outside to wait for Owen.
"You ready?"Owen asked walking up 5 minutes later. I nod my head yes. "Then come on let's go."Owen said. I grab my bag and start walking off campus with Owen.
"So Rick told me that you talked to him today."Owen said once we were off campus. I nod my head yes. "Why won't you talk to me?"Owen said. It's not that simple. I can't just talk as much as you and the others do. "Do you hate me or something?"Owen asked. "I don't hate you."I said. "Then what's wrong?"Owen asked. "Nothing."I said. "Why don't you talk?"Owen asked. "I used to talk all the time."I said. "What happened, why did you stop talking?"Owen asked. "I stopped talking ever since..."I said. "Ever since what?"Owen asked. "...ever since my mom left."I said. "Oh."Owen said. "When mom left my older sister, Abby, moved back in to help our dad take care of me."I said. "That's sweet."Owen said. "Yeah it was."I said.
"So, what fun things do you like to do?"Owen asked. "Pretty much the only fun things I do are either walk around or hang out with Julie."I said. "That's it?"Owen asked. "I'm not the kind of person who likes to have a lot of fun."I said. "Well that needs to change, follow me."Owen said walking in front of me.
15 minutes later we arrived at an abandoned warehouse. At least I think it's abandoned.
"What are we doing here?"I asked. "You'll see."Owen said grabbing my hand and leading me to the door of the warehouse.
"Follow me."Owen said once we reached the door to the warehouse.
Once we both walk inside the warehouse Owen turns on the lights inside the warehouse. When he does I see a bunch of cool stuff. There's guitars, a piano, drums, microphones, a recording studio, and a bunch of other music stuff. Is this heaven?
