Chapter 2

Lexi's POV-

Once the final bell rang I immediately take my headphones out of my backpack, plug them into my phone, and walk out of the classroom going to my music.

By the time I arrive at the main hallway everyone is already outside either waiting to be picked up or waiting for their bus. So I put my headphones on and play the song titanium by David Guetta. I can't help but start singing the song. "You shout it out, but I can't hear a word you say. I'm talking loud not saying much. I'm bulletproof nothing to lose fire away fire away. Ricochet you take your aim fire away fire away. You shoot me down, but I won't fall I am titanium. You shoot me down, but I won't fall I am titanium."I say. After I finish singing the chorus I notice that popular boy, Owen Williams was in the hallway. I immediately run behind a wall and wait for him to walk away. Hopefully he didn't hear me sing.

After I make sure that Owen Williams is gone I walk outside to wait for my sister Abby to pick me and my best friend, Julie, up.

"Hey Lexi."Julie said walking up to me 3 minutes later. "What took you so long?"I asked. "I'm trying to avoid Rick."Julie said. "Has he tried to ask you out again?"I asked her. "Yep, it's annoying."Julie said. "You know he won't stop asking until you tell him yes."I said. "I know, and everytime he asks me I'll tell him the same answer that I've been telling him, no."Julie said. "Why?"I asked. "Because he's not the type of guy I'd date."Julie said. "And your type of guy is what exactly?"I asked. "Anyone but Rick."Julie said. I laugh.

5 minutes later Abby pulls up in the parking spot in front of where we're sitting. "Ready girls?"Abby asked sticking her head out the car window. "Yep."I said. Julie and I both grab our bags and get in Abby's car.

"How was your day girls?"Abby asked after she drove away from the school. "Rick keeps asking me out."Julie said. "Why don't you tell him that you're not interested?"Abby asked. "I have he's still going to ask me until I tell him yes."Julie said. "Oh ok. Lexi how was your day?"Abby asked. "I think Owen Williams heard me sing titanium by David Guetta."I said turning off my music. "WHAT!"Julie yelled. "I think Owen Williams heard me sing..."I said before Julie interrupted me. "I heard what you said Lexi. This is amazing. What did you tell him when he heard you?"Julie asked.

"After I finished singing the chorus I noticed him and ran and hid behind a wall."I said. "Why?"Abby asked driving. "Because I don't want people to know that I sing."I said. "But your dad, Abby and I know you sing."Julie said. "That's because you 3 walked into my room while I was singing, and I didn't know you guys were standing there until I finished singing."I said.

"Why don't you want people to know you sing?"Julie asked. "Because if I tell people then they might want me to sing for them and it would get annoying fast."I said. "Just tell them that you don't want to sing for them."Abby said. "I'd rather be invisible."I said. "Lexi, what if Owen did hear you sing?"Julie asked. "Even if he did hear me sing he wouldn't know it was me."I said. "Why wouldn't he know?"Abby asked. "Because Owen Williams is one of the popular boys and I'm a shy nerdy girl who only has 1 friend."I said.

20 minutes later Abby pulls up in front of our house and the 3 of get out of the car after Abby turns off the car.

"Lexi, you have a gift can't hide it forever."Julie said once we both walked upstairs into my room. "I can and I will."I said. "I know it's been hard for you to sing ever since your mom left. But she would want you to sing not just to me and Abby but to everyone."Julie said.
