*hey this one is a little sad however it ends happy. I thought it would be a relevant topic to talk about seeing as Shawn's song, in my blood, is about his battles with anxiety and I think it's fair to say it's been a big impact on others who experience or have experienced it too. This storyline is how I believe anxiety is like and it's from my personal experiences and perspectives so it may not be similar to your ideas of anxiety. Thanks so much for reading xxx
*y/n POV
*this is also Mega long with like 4,000 words so I've put it in two parts but I'd really appreciate if you read it all ❤️

I walked out of the gates looking for Shawn eagerly. I'd just landed back in Toronto for the holidays and after an eleven hour flight I'm surprised I still have any energy left! I waited for my luggage, still jumping up and down on the spot excitedly and looking around every five seconds to try to catch a glimpse of Shawn. I grabbed my luggage and practically raced through the airport, the rest of my team trying to catch up with me.

"Jesus Christ y/n! Chill!" My manager said as he tried to regain his breath. I spotted Shawn a little way off and bounced over to him, my team once again rolling their eyes and groaning as I'd sped off again, yet laughing as well. I ran over to Shawn and shouted, "baby!" and he just stayed looking at his phone, not even realising I was standing right in front of him. The cheek! "Shawn! Hello?" I waved my hand in his face. Still no movement. I waved my hand more vigorously in his face, "earth to Shawn?!" I was growing impatient at this point and raised my voice a lot more. "Shawn!" I Shouted and he jumped and snapped out of his own world. He looked me up and down then looked back at his phone after three seconds! Then I kind of snapped a bit, "Shawn seriously! I haven't seen you in weeks and I've just come off my flight which I was dreaming of walking off of and then running into your arms and instead your just glued to your fucking phone!" He didn't show any signs that he'd just taken in what I'd said so then I said, getting angry now, "is it ignore y/n day today or am I missing something?" He still wasn't listening so i cracked. "SHAWN!!! FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!" He looked straight at me and jolted off his position on the wall, clearly quite shocked by my actions.

He immediately put his phone away in his pocket and gently said, "hey baby girl" as if I'd never even screamed and I huffed and crossed my arms, attitude y/n coming out now.

"Why were you ignoring me?" I say in a frustrated tone.

"Oh I'm sorry sweetie I was busy texting my mum, she...um she ur...Aaliyah's...sick" he said awkwardly avoiding eye contact.

"Oh," I said clearly in disbelief, still acting pissed off with him.

"No really she's um...in hospital," he said clearly, not sure of himself.

"Really?!" I said raising my eyebrows.

"Yes...um I don't really want to talk about it." This instantly made me soften. He generally seemed hurt. Great! I'd just yelled my head off at my long term boyfriend even though we hadn't seen each other for like two months about his sister whose sick.

"I'm sorry baby..." I say guiltily, looking at the floor, fumbling with my fingers. He hooks his fingers under my chin, tickling me and he then forces me to look up.

"It's ok baby" he says sweetly and pulls me in for a cuddle. I enjoy our warm and welcoming embrace and wrap my arms tightly around him. He gently places his hands on my lower back which is weird because he normally gives me a tight squeeze. But I take not much notice of it because he does seem upset about Aaliyah and stuff so I'll let him off this time.

The rest of my team walk over after they've found me and start talking and greeting Shawn and creating small talk. He does seem a little uncomfortable but that is probably just because of Aaliyah but still he does seem a little bit off. I notice it too, when the others don't, because I know him. I know what he's like. The way his eyes flicker about every couple of seconds as if he's looking for something, the way he laughed lightly and not fully, his fake smiling showing no teeth, his eyebrows shaped worriedly and his nose scrunching up all the time. Something was up. Maybe it was Aaliyah but it seemed like there was something more to hide.
