When the film had finished, Calum and I left the cinema and decided to have a little walk on the beach, since it wasn't too late. When we got there we both took our shoes off, picked them up and started to walk onto the warm golden sand.
The sun had just set and the stars started to shine bright, there were a few other people there, a group of what I assume were college kids surrounded around a campfire, an old couple hand in hand with huge smiles on their faces as they walked toward the sea, and a couple of joggers, you always see them at the beach without fail.
"Have you had a good evening jo?" Calum asked curiously as he stuffed his free hand into his jeans pocket, with a small grin.
"Definitely, it's been lovely cal" I replied, with a smile looking up at his face.
"Good because I've had an amazing time with you" he said as he gently took my hand into his as we continued to walk, toward the sea, small waves crashing against the shore washing over our feet slightly.
I looked at our linked hands and felt a flutter in my stomach, something I've never felt with anyone other than luke, and I knew this was the best thing to do, luke was never going to like me back so I had to get over the stupid little crush I had on him, I was keeping myself from finding someone who felt the same as I did.
16 may be a bit young to be thinking about love but that's who I was, a helpless romantic who fantasized about falling in love, having a best friend as well as a lover, who I could tell everything to and that would tell me how beautiful I am even though I wouldn't believe it, someone to plan a life with, have crazy adventures with and be incredibly happy with. I knew love was nothing like a fairytale but I dreamed of love all the time nevertheless.
Calum stopped and gently pulled me closer to him, our faces were a couple inches apart.
"When you kissed me last night I swear I could've died on the spot considering I've wanted to do that for God knows how long" he started as he let go of my hand and pushed a piece of my hair behind my ear, a big smile plastered on his face as well as his cheeks blushing slightly.
"I know this is our first date of hopefully many, but I have to tell you how much I love you, every time I see you walk into the room, I can't help but smile and feel uncontrollably happy, you're the most gorgeous girl I've ever seen, and I honestly mean that, even your flaws are beautiful to me, your quirky personality is incredible and I'm so drawn to you. You're so strong and I really admire that, you've always come out on top of whatever's getting you down. Jo I love you and I hope that I can get you to love me back just the same no matter how long it takes, because I can't see myself with any one else, no one beats you, I'll never give up on you" Calum stated, I had the biggest smile on my face and butterflies were swarming my stomach, I couldn't believe how adorable Calum Thomas hood could be, he could be a sassy, sexual, childish guy sometimes but underneath all that was a huge softy with such a big heart.
" Cal, you honestly are incredibly adorable do you know that? " I said with a giggle.
"Can I kiss you?" He asked nervously.
I nodded, he placed his hand on the side of my face cupping it as he leaned in and placed his lips on mine so gently as if were glass and about to break, I placed my arms around his neck as the kiss carried on a little longer, both of us savoring the moment.
He pulled away and laced his fingers with mine once again as a light chuckle came from his lips.
"I honestly feel like I'm dreaming" he said as he chuckled some more.
"Well get used to your dream being a reality because we're having a second date very soon hood" I said as I winked at him playfully.
"Cant wait Everson. Come on let's get you home it's getting late" Calum said as he put his arm around my shoulder, we turned around and started walking to his car.
The drive to my house consisted of loads of good music being played, dancing really silly and singing incredibly loud, but I was having the time of my life. When we got to my house, Calum parked his car, got out and rushed round to my side to open my door.
"Thanks cal" I got out of the car and he closed the door behind me.
"Hey guys! How'd the date go?" Michael asked as he ran over from Luke's house.
"Went really well Mike thanks. Is Luke home?" Calum asked as he leant against his car.
"Yeah he came back a while ago, he's in a really good mood because of his date with that Georgia girl. He and Ash are just playing call of duty at the minute, we've ordered pizza you's joining us? " Michael asked as he pointed slightly back at lukes. I mentally rolled my eyes when he spoke about that Georgia, she was pretty much perfect and I was, well me.
"Yeah I'll be there in a sec. What about you jo? You coming?" Cal asked as he turned to me.
"I'm gonna pass tonight if that's ok guys? I'm so tired and I've got homework to finish before monday" I replied, they nodded their heads, Mike said goodbye to me and ran back to Luke's house.
Calum turned to me again and smiled at me.
"Goodnight jo, will you be coming to Luke's tomorrow?" He asked as he walked me to my front door.
"Yeah of course, I never miss movie marathon sundays" I said as I giggled and ruffled his hair.
"I'll see you tomorrow then" cal replied with a big smile as he leaned down and placed a kiss on my cheek.
"See you tomorrow cal" I said as he started walking off towards Luke's house, I opened my front door, went inside and closed the door behind me, I smiled to myself, time to forget about Luke and focus on building something with calum.
