The long-expected autumn holidays finally arrived, so you decided to go to the countryside together with some friends. You booked the apartment, and a few days later sat in your old-but-gold car and left your flat behind. You wanted to stay there for a while, away from the city, noise and your problems, just to enjoy the real meaning of peace and quiet.

As always, you were too early again and arrived there before everyone else, so you had enough time to unpack your things and set in without rushing. A whole day too early, to be precise.

But the situation unexpectedly turned upside down when your friends disappeared without a trace whatsoever, and a random guy ringed at the door.

You were just in the middle of reading an exciting adventure novel in your warm new bed and covered with a cozy blanket. You immediately jumped up, left a book opened and ran downstairs to open the door. You were 99.9% positive those were your friends, but it turned out to be someone completely else.

"I'm coming!" you shouted while rushing and opened the door a few seconds later. You were surprised and taken aback by whom you saw.

"Hi," said a random guy your age or maybe a few years older. Totally chill, with a calm and somehow raspy voice, although he looked like he had been rushing.

"Hello?" you slowly greeted, but it was more like a question than just a regular 'hello'. Apart from that, you were also confused and a little bit embarrassed, because you were still wearing your revealing pajamas – cropped loosened greyish top with hello kitty prints and light blue shorts. The fact that you had shaved your legs last evening was more in your favor.

"Are you Y/N?" he calmly asked. You noticed he's very handsome and good-looking, with short straight brown hair and deep brown eyes, but wearing a regular tracksuit, a grey hoodie with a large black 'Adidas' sign and black 'n' white striped Nike trainers.

"Yes... And you are...?" you asked hesitatingly and unconvincingly, still confused.

"Fuck, so glad I found you!" he emphasized, this time with a higher voice. The use of the swear word only attracted you more. Then he went back to his basic chill mode. "I'm Gregor, by the way."

"Nice to meet you stranger," you gave him your hand. That made him smile a bit. His smile was the literal definition of perfection. Reddish heart-shaped lips and perfect white teeth. Like you weren't already confused enough. You had difficulty putting your thoughts into words, but you were used to awkward situations and managed to put together a normal sentence, without nervousness in your voice. "Could you explain to me what's happening right now if that's not too much to ask or...?" But you still looked and acted kind of nervous.

"Yeah, so, the thing is that-" he brought up the explanation, but you interrupted him.

"-Why don't you come in for a cup of tea first, and then you can enlighten me because, for god's sake, I think I have never been so confused in my entire life. Also... please excuse my pajamas." This time you were more confident and self-conscious. Besides, you definitely wouldn't mind a little company by the coffee table.

"Yeah, whatever, no need to excuse yourself." His chillness calmed you down.

You took the spiral wooden stairs and brought him upstairs to the vintage ornamented kitchen with large glass windows and heaven blue curtains. He sat down by the coffee table and you gave him a cup of freshly prepared green tea.

"Thanks," he said.

"Welcome. Now it's finally time for the explanation. Where the hell are the others and why has nobody called me yet? Or sent me a message, at least?" A tiny piece of anger was still burning somewhere deep inside of you.

"Chill. Sit down. No need to worry, 'cause nothing bad happened." Even in situations like that, he still managed to stay calm and you were wondering how the hell he can do that.

"Yeah, but-" He didn't let you finish and started with his story. This time you didn't interrupt him and just let him talk. You wanted to know why your friends practically ditched you because you were aware that you didn't do anything wrong.

"-The only reason why your friends haven't come is that they got stuck in the traffic jam, okay? There must have been a car accident or something. They called me, asked me to let you, I live very close and that's why I came." They got stuck in the traffic jam? Really?

"Ok, that's really nice of you, but it still doesn't explain why nobody has texted me or anything." They had their cell phones with them and as far as you knew there weren't any issues with the signal.

He cleared his throat. "There's a rumor that they went to a club nearby, maybe partied a little bit too hard, got a little drunk and forgot about everything. But you didn't hear that from me!" He winked at you and that lured a little smile on your face.

"I am so gonna kill them! They are toasted!"

"I would totally regret that if I were in their shoes." He couldn't be more right. You were pissed.

"What a nice start of the holidays, really," you emphasized.

"Hey, you still have me!" The only bright side of that day to be honest.

"I hope you're not as spoilt as they are." He was definitely not.

"Believe me, I'm not. You'll see that soon enough." You didn't expect an answer like that from him. The first part – yes. But the 'you'll see that soon enough' part – nah.

"Thanks for the sympathy though. I honestly don't know whether to cry or laugh right now." The feelings and the emotions – always betray you at the wrong time.

"Welcome," he said, "Also, there's no need to be sad right now. ...Hey, come here." You didn't even hesitate. You hugged him tightly with your arms around his neck, sat down in his lap and pressed your body against his. He touched your leg at brought you closer.

"Seriously, thanks for comforting me. I have no idea who would bear a cry baby like me." Nope. There weren't many people. But he was surely one of them.

"It's alright, baby girl," he whispered into your ear, cupped your hands with his and pulled you closer. You stayed like that for hours – in peace and quiet, but the moves and expressions could tell more than any words.
