ADRIEN'S POV

Thunder crashed loudly.

'Marinette!' I scream.

The wind swirls around me, the rain pouring from the broken heavens above, as I hear a loud cackle. I run to her side, and her face flickers like a hologram, facial expressions changing with every flash of lightning. First, the fragile, helpless expression of my classmate, then a recognisable spotted mask and a grin too wide for comfort.

'wait,' marinette's blue eyes welled up with tears as she falters, before flicking back to the creepy grinning ladybug face, 'I will never like you!'

Marinette wimpers, 'never,'

Ladybug growls as her voice becomes huskier, 'never!'

Their voices merge and grow louder, deafening my ears as nature reaches its peak and everything plunges into darkness.

I wake up abruptly, and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I've never been a fan of the cliché ending of 'it was all just a dream', but this time I'm relieved as I would rather it be like that than me stuck in that situation.

The red numbers on my alarm clock reads 2:22 AM, flickering and making me shudder. Plagg is snoring, muttering on about some weird camembert combinations. I sit up and look out of my window. Snow is settling down quite quickly. I watch the snowflakes float unpredictably, following them as they join the snow piling up on the ground.

This whole idea of Marinette and Ladybug being one has consumed me for hours. Its as confusing as the idea of the trinity or something, I'm so baffled.

She can't be.

Can she?

I get up from bed, feeling chills on my bare shoulders as I quickly put a shirt on. I get up and drag my ladybug blanket (yes, don't laugh at me) with me as I sit on the swivelling chair infront of my desk. Theres a bare corkboard behind my mac computer.

I'm going to solve this once and for all.

I pull it out onto my desk. The question is, where do I start? I decide to turn on my computer and stare at my desktop blankly. The ladybug background smiles warmly at me.

Photographs.

I need photographs. I search 'Ladybug' into google, only to see results showing the insect.

That is clue number one. If the internet can't find an answer, how am I supposed to?

I glare at my screen, as I add 'hero'. Almost immediately, my page is full of smiling pictures, fanart, people thanking the Parisian superheroes. I can admit getting sidetracked as I read a news article interview of the akuma victims thanking 'ladybug and chat noir'.

It feels nice, being appreciated.

I click on Alya's Ladyblog. Alya is actually a really reliable scource. She has tons of pictures of ladybug, and probably tons of marinette.

I turn my printer on and print out some of the clearer photos of Ladybug, which I cut and pin onto the board. Now, for some pictures of Marinette.

I scroll through my phone's gallery. The photos I do have of Marinette are no way near good enough. I look at the class photos, I flip through last year's yearbook.

'most productive'. Yep, that sure is Marinette.

I get out my phone and fire a text message to Nino.

Yo, I was wondering, do you have any pictures of Marinette.

A reply pings back instantly.

Nino- Dude! What r u doing awake at this time.

I could ask you the same.

Nino- And the fact that your asking for pics of nette, it sounds wrong..

Fuck off. DON'T TELL HER.

Nino- I'm messing, and no I don't really have any, I can ask Alya though I doubt she's awake rn.

I doubted you'd be awake rn

Nino- fair enough, lemme ask her now.

NINO'S POV

I think that finally, after everything, our Adrien has learnt of his thing for Marinette. He couldn't keep his eyes off her yesterday. He's asking me for pictures of her at 2AM, which sounds twisted. This whole saga is going to be very entertaining.

Hi Alya! Adrien just asked me for pics of marinette XD can you send me some to send him

A few minutes later, Alya replies.

Alya- He asked for them at this time!

Yes, ikr!

Alya- LMAO this is gonna be funny. Mari is gonna freak when she finds out.

He said not to tell her.

Alya- damn it.

Alya- Ok, I'm sending them now.
