Hazel laughed as she handed Piper the black bean and guacamole mixture. They were making lunch together for the seven. Piper was teaching her how to make a vegetarian dish her cook made for her sometimes.
"Okay.... we need the tortillas next. Wanna go get those? I think they're in the cupboard over there. " Piper said as she mixed their food. Hazel nodded and turned around, but as she was emerging out of the cupboard, tortillas in hand, everything vanished.
Hazel blinked in shock and disbelief, and as she opened her eyes again, she was in a totally different place. She took in her surroundings slowly, unsure of what to do.
Hazel didn't have to wait long for direction, however, because suddenly a loud voice boomed out, "Welcome daughter of Death! I would ask you how you are, but I really don't care, so I won't!"
Hazel blinked and looked around her ignoring the rude voice above her. She was standing on the beginning of a path, a dirt path, but she was definitely inside, considering the black ceiling above her. Her back was pressed against a smooth, metal wall, and in front of her lay darkness. She couldn't see a thing except for the light right above her.
Unfortunately or not, a second voice sounded.
"Oh, don't pay any attention to that wretch. What a nincompoop. I am the one who's supposed to send you off on your little.... adventure. Here's whatcha gotta do: get to the other end of the room! That's it! I'm sure you can do it! Easy least lemon squeezey, and afterward you can go back to your little buddies on that cruise-ship you live on! There's a little advice for you before you take off, I know, I know you're eager, but you have to watch out for the stuff that might kill you! That's all! Enjoy, and my bratty sister will see you once you're through! Bye now!" And the loudspeakers crackled off.
Hazel sighed. Great she thought as she faced the unknown. A growl echoed throughout the room.
And now there's monsters. What helpful advice. She thought, and started forward into the gloom.
I was tempted to end it right there, but it was too short. So here you go. ;-)
Hazel pulled out her spatha. She felt the floor for metal, and jumped back, shocked. Underneath her were layers upon layers of silver. She shivered. She'd have to remember that for later.
As she advanced, a single light seemed to float over her head, lighting her way. The first monster caught her by surprise. It was a giant crab, and was deceivingly quiet for its size. As she crept forward, she bumped into a wall. A bumpy wall. A rough wall. That had spindly legs and two antenna and was trying to kill her with devilish pinchers.
Hazel jumped back and thrust her spatha forward. It struck at nothing, for the creature had already scuttled to the side. She swung her blade around, but it merely glanced off the crab's protective layer. Hazel grunted in frustration. She couldn't kill this monster with the weapons she was using in the situation she was in.
She knelt down, pressing her fingertips in to the dirt, willing the metal to obey her. She could hear the crab's scuttling steps, getting closer and closer, almost to her... But then huge spears of silver erupted from the ground, piercing the crab through his middle and sending him high into the air, stuck on Hazel's creation like a shish-ke-bob.
Hazel tilted her head up to admire her work. Not bad. Not bad at all. And then on she continued on to finish her quest.
Hey guys! haven't updated in a while, sorry. Hope it wasn't too short. Luv u all!!!
