No one could believe their eyes. Right there in front of them stood some apparition of a woman holding Sunstrike.
She didn't even notice their presence and looked around as if she just entered here for the first time.
The woman approached the altar slowly, doubt written on her face. She took out Sunstrike and held in her both hands.
'Khalanor my friend...I'm so sorry. But we both promised that our people most always come first. As much as I would prefer to grow old with you by my side we both know the void cannot be stopped. Not by us anyway...' 'It can't be...' Robert was almost ready to pass out. It couldn't be her....
'I may fail, but it least I'll know I tried. I'm leaving this world forever to look for the gods. They're the only ones that can kill the destroyer. And if they can't then I'll find something stronger out there. I only know one thing....I'm...' She wiped away a tear from her eye. 'I wont watch my little boy grow up....'
She held the bow over the altar as it started to glow red.
'My child...I'm leaving this weapon for you. And for all other relatives after you. Some day someone of our blood will find this. Sunstrike is the only weapon that can hold back the void...but if it falls into the wrong hands....If it falls to the destroyers servants...then we all die anyway...' the bow floated out of her hands. And so did she, she clutched some kind of blue glowing object that raised in the air as she glowed brighter. And in a blinding flash she vanished, blue embers only remaining, scattering to the air.
Then she was gone, and so was the bow. Only Elena held it in her hands. Everyone just stood there, a strong silence fallen over them. They all had just seen it....the fate of Nyandel...the single greatest question of their people for five hundred years..
She knew of the void and that it was coming. She knew all along and left he world to find gods to fight it! She sacrificed everything for the world!
No one had any idea what to feel about it.
What was there to say? It was all so...unexpected...
After what felt like an eternity Robert broke the silence.
'She said...that someone of her blood would find it...Elena.
You look just like her...' they all turned to her in stunted silence.
'She...she can't be...' 'Why? Why can't she be your ancestor?'
'There never was any mention of her having a kid!' 'Maybe they kept it secret? Maybe she feared the dark elves would come after the son for revenge?' more silence followed that conversation.
'Maybe....maybe we can debate it later?...we should go back and check up on the others...' 'Ya...lets..Rainar would wanna know what happened here..'
'What about those things out there?' 'You forget that we got this now!'
'Better use it then cause they're coming!' The crewman pointed up and the red barrier was going down. And as it vanished the giant snake thing rose its massive head above them.
'USE IT ELENA!!' She grabbed and arrow and loaded it up. But it incinerated as a bolt of light appeared instead not burning her.
She could feel it, the bolt powered up, controlled by her mind.
She charged it up and fired it away as the demon opened its jaws. A blinding light erupted as it reached its target. When it vanished the head was gone. The body hung off the mountain tops above them.
'Woah..' was all Dura could say at that moment. 'Ya...I'm gonna love this thing.' they was no time to celebrate as they could feel the ground tremble beneath them and the joined roar of a hundred demons charging them.
