We had just ordered our meals when I remembered his meeting at Disney. I looked at the clock on my phone. Yeah, he had definitely missed it. "We forgot about the Disney thing." I leaned toward him and whispered into his ear. "Damn, did you call?" "Not yet, I'll run outside real quick."
I had been on hold for about ten minutes when Ross joined me on the outdoor patio. He gave me a 'what's going on?' look. I shrugged. "Still on hold." as I spoked there was a click on the other end and a woman spoke. "This is Amelia, how can I help you?" she asked. "Hi Amelia, this is Francesca Dobson, my client, Ross Lynch was scheduled for a meeting with you today, I was calling to apologize for his absence. He was in a..." she abruptly cut me off. " Ok, umm Ms... Dobson was it? I'll need to see Mr. Lynch in my office on the fifteenth. I don't have time to go into details, but we need to discuss certain items in his contract. It's extremely important that he comes in. Say, 9:30 am." "ok, he'll be there."
I told Ross exactly what she said. He again looked worried. "I've been getting warnings about my... appearance lately. My character is supposed to be 16 and I... don't quite look the part anymore." "Well they can't exactly fire you, you're pretty much the main character. And even if they do, you still have the band, and let's face it, you enjoy being on stage way more than being on set. Oh oh, PLUS you have those scripts." He shook his head. "I can't do those movies, they're too... mature. My fanbase would freak."
When we made it back to the table I was greeted with "Way to go Yoko. I thought assistants were supposed to HELP." I glared at Riker. "I'm not getting into it with you right now. This is supposed to be a happy time for Ross. I would, however, appreciate it if you didn't speak to me for the rest of the night." I put my purse on the floor beside my chair and sat down. Ross scooted his chair closer to mine and then sat. His eyes intense and focused only on his oldest brother. After our food arrived, Ross and I ate in silence, while everyone else chatted about their day. It was nearing rehearsal time. And I intended on skipping this one. I had a feeling that if Riker were to take another stab at me, it was going to get ugly.
At the house, I sat in my room and contemplated the day. I could hear Rikers Yoko comment clearly in my head, it replayed it's self continuously, on a loop. At first it made me angry, but then I began to see truth in it. I mean, before me, they barely ever fought. They seemed like such a happy family. I knew it wasn't ALL me, but I definitely played some part in the recent strife between Ross, Riker and Rydel. As of tomorrow morning, they'd have nearly a week to hash things out without me around. I was kind of nervous at that aspect. What if Riker convinced Ross to end things with me for the good of the band and the family?
Well, I guess everything happens for a reason, right?
