chapter thirty-eight

Louis' P.O.V.

"Are you sure she completely believes you're on her side?" Miranda asked in a hushed tone.

"Yes, she has no idea," I assured her sarcastically. Women are so stupid when it comes to these types of things. Betrayal is probably one of the easiest things I can accomplish, yet Miranda's acting as if we're breaking into Tiffany's to steal their most expensive necklace.

"You know, you can always back out of this," she reminded me. "No one asked you to be the hero."

"Actually, Delilah did."

"Whatever, I doubt she'd want you to be risking your life like this," Miranda sighed. "Once she finds out everything you've done, she's probably going to hate you.

I thought for a moment. "I can live with that."

"Can you really?" 

Before I could answer the phone hung up. I sighed and tossed it back onto the couch, fed up with this whole situation. It's all Harry's fault, if it weren't for his past I wouldn't even need to be doing this shit. I mean sure, it's my past too, but I don't have it creeping up on me every 2 seconds like he does.

I hward grunting coming from my room, Delilah must be having another nightmare.

I padded through the dark house and opened my door, climbing in next to her and stroking her hair. She calmed down instantly. I took in her delicate features and long, dark hair. Harry didn't deserve her. She was far too beautiful for a guy like him, god knows what she sees in him.

I remember when Harry first told me about her, the day he came back to England.
"You should see her man, she's a real beauty. No girl in England can compare to her," he spoke lovingly.
"Not even Amelia?" I raised my eyebrow. This is hard to believe.
"She's far prettier than Amelia by a long shot," he bragged, swivelling his chair at the bench in the bar.
"What's she doing with you then?" I cackled.
"Shut up," Harry laughed and punched me in the arm.

I never did take him seriously until I saw her with my own eyes. She really was beautiful, far better than someone like Amelia. It truly puzzles me as to why she's with Harry, she could do far bettee than him.

Not with me, of course, since I'm just as bad as him, but she definitely deserves better, I know that much.
