We had been sitting in silence for an hour, tracing patterns on each others arms while I lay between Michael's legs, my head leaning back against his chest. This moment was everything to me. Finally being able to physically be with him made my insides warm.
"I've missed you so much." I whipered as I ran a finger along the vein in his arm.
"Thats like the twentieth time you've said that since you got here." Michael laughed, leaning down and placing a kiss in my hair. "But I know, I don't want to be away from you for that long ever again." I snuggled into his arms as they wrapped around me and closed my eyes, totally contenet. "Allie?" I hummed in reponse. "What's up with you and Ashton?" There it was. The question I had been artfully avoiding since he asked at the train station two months ago. The question that I couldn't answer. Not because I didn't want to, but becuase I didn't know. "Like, are you two a thing?" I wriggled around so I could prop my elbows against his chest and lean my chin in my hands. "Because you were always FaceTiming and texting. You two talk a lot. Like sometimes more than we do."
"Michael," I sighed, giving him a gentle smile. "I told you that nothing was going on. We're just friends. If something did happen I'd tell you. You're my best friend. Stop being silly." I leaned my head against his chest and wrapped my arms around as much of his torso as I could manage. The jet lag was chatching up with me. "Now shut up and let me sleep." I mumbled against his t-shirt, earning myself a laugh. It wasn't long until sleep took over and my brain registered a final sentence from Mcihael before I was fully pulled under.
"That's just it. I don't only want to be your best friend."
I woke up wrapped in a blanket and a pair of arms different from those I fell asleep in. My eyelids fluttered open and I squinted up at Luke who was playing with my hair.
"Luke? Where's Michael?" I groaned, my voice sounding groggy.
"He had to go sort some thigns out."
"So why am I asleep on you?"
"Everytime Michael tried to leave you kept tossing and turning until he held you again, so we've been switching out." I felt the heat rush to my cheeks at the thoguht of all the boys knowing the difficulty I had sleeping alone. The last two months had been the worst for me, sleep wise. I went to bed fearful of my father rocking up at my door, even though he was locked up in a hospital. I always slept best with someone near me, it made me feel safer and Michael was my ultimate body guard. "You do say some interesting things in your sleep though." I cringed at the thought of Luke hearing my sleep talking.
"Oh dear lord." I grumbled, pulling out of Luke's hold and sitting up against the back of the couch. "What did I say?" Luke smiled sheepishly and ran a hand through his hair.
"Well, lets just say me and Calm know a lot about you and Ashton." My eyes poped open and I slammed my head backwards.
"Aw, Fuck!" Luke giggled lightly as I ran my finger through, untangling my hair. "Are you shitting me right now?"
"'Don't tell Michael, Ash.'" Luke mocked in a high pitch voice and I slammed a pillow into his face. "'I don't know how I feel aout you, Ashton.'" I continued to whack Luke with a pillow while he ran off more comments, laughing. "Oh, Ashton!"
"Lucas!" I squealed as I tackled his to the floor and continued to belt him, his hands sheilding his face.
"We can't let Michael know! I don't know how he'll take it!"
"We can't let Michael know what?" A deep voice came from the doorway and both Luke and I froze as Ashton came into view. I flashed Luke a look and he simply scrambled to his feet, chuckling.
"Allie's conflicted." I whacked Luke's arm as he passed me and allowed Ashton to pull me to my feet. I shook my head at Ashton's raises eyebrow and he shrugged, pulling me into a one armed hug.
"Shut up, Hemmings." I scowled, leaning into Ashton's side. "I'll kick your ass." I couldn't help but laugh as Luke mocked fear from the corner of the dressing room.
"Come on." Ashton let go of me to grab my hand and flung my jacket over his shoulder. "Let's go back to the hotel."
