Someone Special

"Y-you're the kid I met this morning..." said Naruto as he looked down "Why did you stop? I murdered your comrade...your beloved friend...and you still spare me?!" asked Haku, Naruto looked back to see Sasuke with Rokudo's body hugging his upper body "CRAP!!" yelled Naruto as he punched Haku in the face making him fall to the ground.

Haku coughs out blood and looks at Naruto while getting back up "All the power you had before...Where is it? You can't hope to kill meager force you put into that blow" said Haku, Naruto didn't say anything as he kept looking at Haku "Often people have it wrong mistakenly...believing...that showing mercy to an enemy is kindness, they spare the foe whose life is in their hands...but don't you see? It's an empty existence...to go on living...alone and unloved...when defeat has already cost you your dream" said Haku as he wipes the blood off his lips "Say what..?!" asked Naruto "Master Zabuza has no use for a weak shinobi, you've taken away my reason for living" said Haku as he gives Naruto a closed eyed smile but Naruto looked at him with shock "Why waste all that devotion on such a creep?! That mercenary scumbag doesn't care who he works for or who gets hurt, just so someone pays him! Is that browless wonder really precious to you...your "Beloved friend"?!!!" asked Naruto with anger.

Haku looked down with a smile still on his face "Once...I was precious, I belonged...to..my...parents" said Haku, Naruto looked at Haku shocked but didn't say anything "I was born in a snowy, little village in the Land Of Mist, and I was happy...my parents were good, kind people...but just I was getting old enough to really notice the world around me...something happened" said Haku as he looked down "Like what...? What happened?" asked Naruto "Blood, my blood" said Haku, "Blood...?" asked Naruto, but Haku didn't answer "What are you talking about?!" asked Naruto.

"My father killed my mother...and tried to kill me" said Haku, Naruto's eyes widened in shock "Why?" "The Land Of The Mist has been the scene of generations of non-stop war, among its people those who possess the Kekkei Genkai...skills that come out of our genetic inheritance...are loathed as abominations" explained Haku "Kekkei Genkai...?" asked Naruto confused "The term refers to clans whose bloodlines give them powers like mine. Inherited skills that were exploited and twisted, used to cause horrible slaughter...until we ceased to be looked on as warriors or even weapons, but were condemned as the harbingers of doom. After the wars were over, we who possessed this trait were hunted only able to survive by hiding the existence of our skills and our bloodline away, exposure meant certain death! I'm sure that boy I killed, who shared that skill, must also have grown up knowing the pain of which I speak. We are special, we are powerful, and we are feared" Haku explained again, Naruto looked back at Rokudo with shock in his eyes.

"My father learned...that my mother...came from such a clan...and before I even realized what I was about to do...my father had died...by my hand and then it came to me, I knew what I was and I was forced to accept it, that was the most painful thing..." said Haku "The most painful thing...?" asked Naruto "Accepting that I was alone in the world, superfluous, unwanted, shunned" said Haku, those words echoed through Naruto's head.

"Don't tell me...that you wanted to become the number one ninja in your village and make everyone respect you? If you had someone in your life who did more than that...who acknowledged your existence...even cared for you...wouldn't that person become the most important...treasured...person in your life?!"asked Haku, Naruto looked down as he thought of Iruka-sensei and the memories "...Master Zabuza adopted me, knowing I came from a Kekkei Genkai bloodline, the very thing in me that made everyone else hate me...he didn't overlook it, he cherished it, he wanted it" said Haku.

"From this day on, you belong to me, body, soul...and blood!"

Naruto looked at Haku shocked. "I was so happy..." said Haku as he cried with happiness.

"I have bad news for you, Haku...I'm leaving this land tonight! But...! I've sworn an oath to return one day...as a conqueror, who'll crush them all beneath my feet! And to do that, what I need from you is neither love, nor affection, and support, what I require is-" 

"I understand, I am your weapon and your tool, keep me beside you, and I'll strike where you tell me to strike, kill whom you tell me to kill"

"Naruto...please...take my life...please, Naruto, kill me now" said Haku, Naruto looked at him with anger in his eyes, not saying a word "What are you waiting for?" asked Haku "WHAT IS WITH YOU?!! YOU'RE USED TO BEING THE TOUGHEST, YOU DON'T LIKE TO LOSE, I GET THAT!!!! BUT WANTING TO DIE JUST 'CAUSE SOMEONE BEAT YOU IS CRAZY!!!" yelled Naruto, Haku looked down without saying anything "There's more to life than just fighting, there's more to you!! Your boss must like you for more than just that...right? Doesn't he?" asked Naruto.

"...That day I met you in the forest...I remember thinking that we were two of a kind...surely you can understand..." said Haku, Naruto looked at him confused "You'll have to bloody your hands, forgive me for that" said Haku, Naruto looked at him with anger "Is that...is that the only way? No other outcome?" asked Naruto hoping he could change his mind "Yes..." Haku answered.

Naruto slowly grabs his kunai "You...I hope you find your dream..." said Haku, Naruto looked back seeing Sasuke still holding Rokudo while crying "...He...Rokudo had a dream, too...If we'd met some other way, someplace else, you and me'd probably have been friends" said Naruto as he ran to Haku.
