Pring woke the next morning to the sound of birds and Julius standing over her. She jerked awake when she realized he was there, just staring at her. He smiled.
"Ah, you're awake! Now we can talk."
Pring was puzzled at his obvious obsession to talk to her, and she didn't completely trust him.
"Talk about what?"
"Well, I have a proposition for you, princess."
"What kind of proposition?"
"One that is beneficial to the both of us."
"So tell me."
Julius smiled, but looked slightly annoyed. He walked over and sat on a wooden chair close to the couch that Pring was on. Then he began to explain,
"You may not know it, but I am a sort of wizard, Well I have magic. I can give you anything you want, riches, freedom, the chance to travel to a different land. And I am willing to grant you one wish."
Pring looked at him curiously.
"There is, however, a catch. I need you to do something for me, something that I cannot do myself. You see, I have been cursed with an infinite amount of potatoes. Yes, potatoes. I have a room full of potatoes, and when I take one, another appears in it's place. I have found a use for them, a tasty treat that can be produced from the potato. But unfortunately, I have no way of making it. Everything I try just doesn't work. I cannot make this delicious snack by myself."
"So what are you asking me to do?" Pring snapped, bored and confused.
"You need to make these snacks. It's you that I've been waiting for, the one who will bless all the earth with the goodness of whatever potato treat you make. This is your destiny!"
At this point, Pring was confused. "You think my destiny is to make potato chips?"
"Yes! Okay, well think of it this way, you were never happy as royalty, and this way, you'll bring joy to everyone throughout the whole world. And, I'll even name them after you! Then, once you've made enough and taught me and some other workers how to make them, I'll grant your one wish and you can be free of this kingdom."
Pring was warming up to the idea. She already knew what recipe to try first. Could it really be, that this is what she was made for? That this is her true purpose. It made sense to her, in a way.
"So, do you accept, princess?"
"Yes. I do."
