Olivia danced around the living room, playing with her gift Melissa allowed her to open before she went to bed. "Olivia, time to get ready for bed" Melissa called out from the kitchen, "Grab the cookies and milk and out them by the tree"
"Okay, mommy!" Olivia put her toy on the couch and ran to the kitchen to grab the plate of cookies they cooked earlier today. I watched carefully as she placed the plate near on the table near the tree. "Daddy, well Santa bring Bennett presents?" She grabbed her toy and climbed onto the couch to be face-to-face with me.
"Of course" I smiled.
"Good" She smiled, "I don't want to share my toys with him"
"Why not, don't you love your brother?" I asked, Picking her up.
"I do, but he slobbers all over my toys" She pouted.
"That's because he's a baby, Livia" Melissa walked out of the kitchen, pushing Olivia's hair back. "He'll grow out of the slobber eventually"
"I hope so," Olivia said.
"Come on, the faster you go to sleep, the faster Santa well come" Melissa took her from my arms. "Honey, why don't you prepare for Santa"
"Of course, I'll make sure he doesn't get hurt coming down the chimney" I kissed Olivia's head, "Goodnight, angel"
"Night, daddy!" Melissa took her up to her room. I quickly grabbed the wrapping paper out of the closet, preparing to wrap all the presents.
~
By midnight, Melissa and I had finished wrapping so we relaxed on the couch, drinking some hot chocolate and talking about random stuff. "That time Katie tried to push John into the pool in San Diego and but ended up pushing Los and Tom into the pool, so they threw her into the pool after the after party" I explained, she started giggling. "She climbed out of the pool, drenched in her dress, her hair covered her face and she chased them around for an hour"
"All the after parties end at midnight though" Melissa calmed down from her giggles, "Oh my god, they threw her into the water in the middle of the night?" She started giggling again. "Poor Katie"
"Our lives were weird before kids" I chuckled.
"It was fun" she smiled, leaning on my shoulder. "But I love my life now"
"Me too, my angel, me too"
~
"MOMMY! DADDY! IT'S CHRISTMAS!" Olivia ran into the room, jumping onto the bed, "WAKE UP!"
"Calm down, Angel" I groaned, sitting up, watching her jump around. "Is Bennett awake yet?"
"Yep, he's waiting for you" She smiled.
"Alright, wait for mommy and I'll grab Bennett" I walked over to Bennett's room, he was standing in his crib waiting for me. "Hey, bud, ready for presents?"
He started nodding and smiling. "Daddy, Benny, come on!" Olivia and Melissa ran past Bennett's room.
"We're coming" I picked Bennett up and followed them down the steps.
Melissa helped Olivia open some presents, while I helped Bennett. Olivia loved every present and Bennett only paid attention to only a few toys. "Daddy, this one is for you!"
She handed me a small box covered in green wrapping paper. "I got a present?" I saw Melissa smile, kissing Olivia's head.
"Open it!" Olivia cheered.
I tore the paper off and pulled off the top of the box to see a positive pregnancy test. "Oh" I looked up to see Melissa nodding.
"I'm 2 months pregnant" She announces.
"We're getting another sibling, Benny!" Olivia hugged Bennett. I stood up hugged Melissa.
"I love you, Melissa" I placed a kiss on her lips.
"I love you, Stephen" She hugged bag.
"Merry Christmas, mommy, daddy" Olivia and Bennett to hug us.
"Merry Christmas, my angel" Melissa hugged them.
Our lives really were amazing with kids...
