I didn't expect to see Toby running half naked with his pants and shirt rolled into a ball with a deer leg in his left hand. Pete was right behind him, holding his shirt (and only his shirt, thank God). Callum and Gale were fully dressed, and they looked... I don't wanna say angry but they weren't happy. It was mixture of confusion and curiosity and Callum was the first to speak on it, or he tried to.
Way too excited for his own good Toby ran to Callum's truck where I stood leaning against it before kissing my cheek. I must have been blushing cause his smile only got wider.
"You have a severed deer leg and no clothes on, I don't want you hugging me," I said, growing squeamish at the sight of blood staining the corners of his mouth like spaghetti sauce left over from a hearty meal.
"Aw come on, here, I'll put the leg down. I'm too excited not to hug you at least."
I wasn't looking at Toby though, I was looking at Pete and Callum who looked way too surprised at their brother's actions for me to be even slightly convinced he told them about us. On the bright side Gale softened up at the sight of us, making me feel a bit better about all of it.
"Tobias, get your clothes on. We're not the only ones out here," Gale said, opening up the door to his car.
Gaping at the way Toby leaned into me Pete said, "Since when did this happen."
"Shit," Toby whispered, "I forgot that I hadn't told you guys yet."
"Ya think," I whisper shouted back. Christ.
"Well you know now." He looked to me. "Dad kinda guessed it after I came out to him."
"Wait so you really-"
"For us yeah, " he whispered, moving to hug me.
"You're still naked."
Whispering a little quieter into my ear he smiled, "You act like it's such a big deal."
Glancing down I pushed off the truck. "No. It's not."
Glaring at me Toby pulled his shirt and jeans apart. Slipping his shirt over his head he left it draping from his neck so he could pull his pants on. Callum was making his way to the car, eyeing his little brother just as he started up with a retort.
"That's not what you were saying when I had you bent-"
"Soooo- how was the hunt?" I slinked over to Callum's side as he opened the passenger side door.
"Good..." Squinting at me he said, "you two are dating?"
"Yeah...?" I nodded slowly, not really sure where this was going.
"You like him?" He squinted at Toby.
"I guess. Iwouldn'tlethimkissmefornoreason, " I mumbled, letting out a nervous laugh.
Callum stared at me for a moment, brown eyes rolling just before he chuckled. "Took the two of you long enough."
Stepping forward Pete pulled his shirt on. "Wait so you knew?"
"Yeah, you knew?" Toby said through his shirt, he had it halfway over his head, frozen in place.
"Toby, you're a good liar but I can tell when you want something," Callum said simply, holding it for a beat before climbing into the car.
Looking to Toby I frowned, mouthing the words, "What was that about?"
"I dunno." Snaking an arm around my waist he pulled me towards his dad's car, Pete following after us. Sneaking a few quick kisses onto my neck. "But I think I deserve a treat."
"Okay, ew! I can hear, at least whisper out of earshot!" Pete curled up a lip at us, mumbling to himself, "Seriously, am I the only one who didn't know?"
Toby was opening the car for me when when another family came walking across the bridges, boot clad feet thumping against the wood. Toby seed to tense, sniffing the air for a familiar scent. Before the first Leblanc son could finish buttoning up his shirt Toby was letting go of the car door in favor of waving hi to them.
"Oh, it's you guys," he said, giving a smug smile that was mostly aimed at Schuyler. He wasn't lying about winning. I had no reason to believe he was lying but it was apparent in the way Schuyler kept avoiding his gaze.
"Hello, you must be Tobias Vincent." The man who spoke had to be Tedrik Leblanc. If it weren't for the resemblance to Schuyler it was his stern demeanor, the pure grace of his step and the slight sneer of his smile.
"Yes, sir. I'm friends with your second youngest in school," Toby answered, holding out a hand for him to take.
"There's no need to lie to me boy." Tedrik looked down his nose at Toby who was ready to take his hand back when Tedrik took hold of it and gave a firm shake. "You put my son in the hospital."
"Well I didn't know about that part." Toby's smile faltered a bit.
"You didn't know?"
"I kinda blacked out." Toby looked to Schuyler. "The last thing I remember was punching him in the nose. There was a lot of blood. I think that was when I blacked out."
"I'm still impressed, " Tedrik said, slipping his hands into the pockets of his coat.
"So you're glad that I beat the shit out of your son, no offense Schuyler, " Toby said, raising a brow at the man in front of us. Schuyler started to blush but quickly crossed his arms over his chest to seem more intimidating.
"You really blacked out, hm. No one told you? You broke his ribs and his wrist."
Eyes going wide Toby gulped. "Sorry...?"
"Don't apologize, " Tedrik raised a hand, "I'm not angry. Far from it. My boy needed to be put in his place."
Snapping his head up Schuyler glared at his father. His three older brothers snickered at this but quickly closed their mouths at the snap of Tedrik's fingers.
"I guess, sir," Toby muttered, glancing at Schuyler. "Well it was nice meeting you, and happy Thanksgiving."
"It was my pleasure." Tedrik smiled, directing his boys towards a line of cars.
Schuyler lingered for a second, turning a somber frown to Toby. Toby, for probably the first time ever, looked like he regretted something.
"Bye Schuyler," Toby said softly, reaching over to open the door for me.
"Bye Vincent," Schuyler mumbled with a half-hearted wave.
Toby tipped his chin up at that, sliding into the car after me, taking the window seat. Looking to me he whispered, "I don't like him."
"Who, Schuyler?" I frowned, brow furrowing at this.
"Not him. Tedrik. He seems...off." Shaking it off Toby leaned forward to turn on the radio. "Next time we hunt how about I lead the pack?"
Snorting Pete turned the radio back off. "Uh- fuck no."
A/N: This is where things start to get serious. But Toby and Eric came out to everyone. I won't lie, it felt cheap to me but it still fit Toby's character for some reason. He sorta doesn't care what others think and he was already pretty hype with happened so yeah. My laziness is justified.
