Chapter Two
They ended up having shifts for keeping watch throughout the night, hearing growls, howls and screaming coming from outside of the room. By the time that Ichijou and Saya, the TIC's kids came and knocked on the door, most of the humans were scared out of their wits and called home. Some got a hold of their families but others were not so lucky, a girl was still crying from the horrendous phone call she had with her mother being attacked by a zombie. For some strange reason she didn't hang up so you could hear the zombie eating her mother. When the knock came, Kaoru opened the door and grinned seeing the twins still in the same condition as when they have left.
"So, what's the damage?" He asked his friends and they all grinned except for Kaname, who is a weird one, that shows no emotions at all.
"Nothing bad except for this guy, he found his mate just before she was bitten. He is now a risk though; he tried to take all the zombies on as we were heading back here. So, what can we do after we leave here?" Ichijou asked as Saya shoved him aside just to check on the other pack members.
"We still have some students missing, so we might have to go and find them." Takedo said as he points to the few that are nodding. "Apparently, the student president is one that tends to protect as many as possible so when his flight came in they were probably still at the bagging section. We need to check the whole airport first then head to the vehicles you both have obtained."
"That's easier said than done, Take-chan." Saya says as she looks at the humans.
"Not really," Ayaela said as she showed that the stronger ones are carrying weapons that everyone had a hand in creating. "I have also appointed most of my guards to protecting them, so we will not have to worry about any of that. We just need to see if there are any more survivors left in the airport and then start heading out on the road."
"Okay, fair enough," Saya said with a huge smile, she starts waving everyone out of the room and they quietly started to walk down the hall to the door that leads to the entrances of the airport. She points the way to baggage claim and they all slowly walked towards it.
"Everyone, please be careful, okay?" Takedo says through the mind link, "Anyone else out there?" As he says this some heads popped above the desks at the ticket exchange area. "How many are with you?"
"We have fifteen hidden back here, all were's. Strangely we have a family of were cats with us. Will it be alright if we bring them?" One of the warriors in training asks as she looks all around trying to make sure none made any sounds. Takedo took out a piece of paper and asked Ayaela who grins and nods. "Oh, that's so great!" She shouts making everyone in the link wince.
"You guys can come out though, it's clear," Kaoru tells her and she waves the others to follow her quietly as they climbed over the counter to drop silently to the floor, quickly walking over to the group. They quietly walked towards baggage again, making sure someone's eyes are on each side so that they can keep everyone safe. As they passed through the archway that leads to the stairway down, they noticed a zombie sitting there eating a corpse that isn't turning for some reason. "Why isn't it going zombie?"
"Let's find out, shall we?" Takedo says and they both shift into their wolves that look more like Dire wolves than anything, making the humans gasp while holding their hands over their mouths. They both looked at the human's at the same time as a warning to not make anymore sounds. Creeping as quietly as they could they got closer to the zombie to see that he was eating on a partially shifted Were bear who died looking like they were protecting something. A little animalistic cry was heard to their left and they attacked the zombie, one grabbing the head while the other held the body of the zombie down enough for the other to rip its head off. "I guess even partially shifted means that no zombification." He thought as he turns to look where the sound came from to see a weird looking bear cub with huge ears and a longer tail. "Hybrid?" He asks and saw his friend nod as they picked the cub up by the scruff of the neck to bring it to Ayaela.
