Projection [ an Overhaul fanfic ]

"O-Overhaul...I've seen him around..Izuku, he's after me..he wants my quirk!!"

The fear in Emiko's eyes tore Izuku's heart to pieces. He cared deeply for his friend and to hear a villain is targeting her, shut him down.

"H-How do you know Emiko?"

"I-Idk..."

Izuku let out a long sigh he was holding in. Being the last day of high school, he was not expected such a turn of events, but he was indeed worried about His friend.

"Don't you worry Em! If you sense he's around or something, please don't hesitate to call or text!"

Emiko nodded her head and gave Izuku a bone crushing hug. The 2 separated ways and began their trek home. But something wasn't setting right with Emiko.

5 minutes passed since she left the school campus, and as she passed by an ominous alley way, she heard distant footsteps. She would usually shake off what's in the area but something about these footsteps stopped her in her tracks. When she came to a complete stop, she slowly turned her head towards the open, dark hole. Only to find her nightmare.

Overhaul.

"Hello there...Emiko..."

Emiko couldn't move. Her eyes trembled as she choked on her scream.

'This is it...' She panicked. 'I'm done for..!'
She tried to step away, but the quickness of her enemy overpowered her. With the quick, sweeping motion, Overhaul snatched her body close to his, and took off back into the alley way. The last thing she saw before being shoved into a door of an older building, was the icon and phone number of her rock, Izuku.

'If you sense him around, please don't hesitate to call or text!'

Those words echoed in her mind. She didn't want to think of those as the last words she'd ever hear from Izuku. But that's all she could think about.

"I-I'm sorry..."
