This one took me a long time to do

I'm okay with it, there's some parts I don't like but eh oh well

Also, I know that All I want for Christmas by Mariah Carey wasn't out by this time, but for the sake of the story, just pretend it was

Also, quite a bit of bad words here

The Christmas Show. The latest thing that kids in Hawkins High were obsessing about. It was a specific day, at a specific time, at a specific place. On December 20th, at 7:30 p.m. in the gym, Hawkins High was going to present their annual Christmas Show, in which most kids from the school would have to dance to a particular Christmas song. The High-school would set up an enormous, wide platform that would be touching the back wall of the gym, yet still face the bleachers. Chosen students would spend most of their after school time working on decorations for the platform, and teachers would unite together to think of outfits for the students' dancing. It was usually an exciting event, but some students, like Michael Wheeler, did not enjoy this event whatsoever. Right now, he was sitting in between El and Will, with Dustin, Lucas, and Max sitting in the row in front of him. They were five minutes into lunch period, and the party was surprisingly quiet. That was, until Dustin decided to break the awkward tension.

"So, have you guys learned the shitty dance yet?" He asked.

"Don't even remind me of that" Mike said, and everyone else mumbled something along the lines of 'yep' or 'yea'. The party was not looking forward to this dance, Mike most of all. Due to his lankiness, he looked like a stick bug trying to dance and was therefore placed in the back and last row. Lucas and Dustin, though, had more flexibility and could actually dance, so they were in the front row. Will, being that one person who sometimes can dance, yet other times can't move for the life of him, was placed in the middle row. El and Max were pretty quick learners, and they got the hang of it quickly, but still needed to loosen up. The dance had a lot of intricate movements since the song chosen for the freshman classes was All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey. The boys would start at one side while the girls started at the other, and then they would eventually get mixed up later into the dance. The choreographers (three students who had done dance their whole lives) had most of the dance settled down, but they were still doubtful on what to do for the ending.

"You girls are lucky though. Our dumbass choreographer was like 'Oh, I'm so sorry boys but we need to change something cause some boys just can't get the dance right. '" Lucas said, while raising his voice trying to mimic the girl.

"Oh my god, right, I forgot they changed it again. All because some one didn't know how to clap and move three steps up." Dustin added, and then looked pointedly at Mike.

Mike's eyes widened and he said back, "It wasn't just me! There was like three other kids in my row who couldn't do it either! Plus, you don't know how it feels to have these ten feet longass giraffe legs!"

El snorted at his comment and leaned her head against his shoulder. Lucas smirked, and then Max piped up, saying, "He has a point, Dustin, have you seen him dancing? He looks a baby horse learning to walk for the first time." Everyone laughed at that, well, everyone except Mike. He scowled and got up, getting his stuff.

"I'm going to class, El, are you gonna come?" He asked. El giggled lightly and nodded. She packed the remainder of her lunch and gathered her stuff together before heading through the doors and towards the math classroom with Mike.

                                                   —————————————————

"Ugh not this shit again.." Dustin mumbled. The entire freshman class was currently stuck in the gym practicing the dance. The boys were on one side of the gym, learning their own dance, while the girls were on the other side. Right now, though, the girls had to change the boys dance for a third time cause they still couldn't get it right. While the girls were discussing on what to do, Lucas, Dustin, Mike and Will separated themselves from the cluster of boys and went to a little corner to talk.
