I was finally home from that place. I had come to my senses. I let a man, I barely know, finger me in his office. What the hell am I doing?! Come on Ronnie! Get it together. I walked into my trailer to find everything thrown everywhere and my mother nowhere to be found. She must have had another tantrum. It happens a lot. I started to pick up her mess when she shot through the door."Where have you been!? I have been searching for you for hours." She said that while staring at me intensely.
"Out"
"Veronica you can't be 'going out' on this side of town! You could get hurt! You don't know what it's like!"
I was tired of this talk all the time and I was done with it.
"And you would!?"
"Veronica-"
"No! Don't Veronica me! I'm leaving to clear my head!"
I ran to the door before she could say otherwise. Where was I going?
————————-
I was walking on the bridge that connects the north and south side. This was ridiculous. How I had almost a perfect life before this all happened. Then, out of nowhere, it started pouring rain."Are you fucking kidding me?!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
My hair is all wet, my white t-shirt is see-through, and I don't know where the fuck I am going. I crossed the bridge and sat on a bench with a booth. It was empty and dark. Then all of the sudden a motorcycle appeared. It stopped on the other side of the road. The driver put down its leaver, and hopped off the bike. Then they started walking to me. Veronica! What are you doing? Run! My head told me to run, but I couldn't move. I'm going to die if I don't run!
"Veronica?"
Oh. My. Gosh. He took off his serpent jacket and walked up to me. Then he ran his hand through his red, hot hair. Oh no.
"Veronica? What the hell? Are you trying to get sick?"
He put his jacket over my shoulders. Then he sat down next to me.
"Where are you going?"
I didn't answer.
"I'm gonna ask you again. Where are you going? Or at least trying to go?"
"I-I-I don't...know."
He slung his arm up on the bench and turned to face me. He looked puzzled.
"What do you mean you don't know?"
"I can't be with my mother right now, I don't know where to go."
"Well, ,you're gonna get sick."
"I don't care. No one cares anyway."
He sighed heavily. Then he stood up and grabbed my hand.
"What are you doing?"
"Taking you somewhere."
"Where?"
He didn't say anything. He just kept walking.
"Archie? Where are you taking me?"
"I'm taking you to my trailer. I was gonna go see my dad, but I need to make sure you're okay."
I didn't protest. He got on his motorcycle.
"Hop on."
"Without a helmet?"
"Don't be a pussy. Although I want yours right now."
He said that last part softly so I couldn't hear it.
"Archie I-"
"Just get on the damn bike, Veronica."
I caved and hopped on the bike. I didn't want to make it awkward by holding onto him, so I just held on my seat.
"So do you want to die or are you gonna hold on?"
"I am holding on."
He let out a huge sigh. He took my hands and wrapped them around his torso. I could feel his six-pack against his shirt. Wow
"Okay, here we go."
