Felix tapped his fingers impatiently on his desk in physics class pondering about the problem that was currently wrapped around his mind. How was he to go about his and Jisung's betting situation so that he wouldn't be suspected and so that he didn't feel as if he were cheating his best friend?
"Mr. Lee, would you like to show the class how you'd solve this problem on the chalkboard?"
Crap.
Felix widened his eyes at his teacher who stood at the front of the class her arms crossed and an eyebrow raised. In the back corner of the class, he could hear Jisung snickering at his situation. He felt his heartbeat start to pick up as it did in any situation where there was the opportunity to expose himself and without him realizing it, his two fingers rise up to his neck and to check his pulse.
He glances at the board and knows the answer immediately... Felix could be teaching the class that he's sitting through right now... Felix has taught the class he's sitting through right now when he tutored his cousin Chan. But none of that matters at this moment. Felix tried to mentally prepare himself for what was about to happen, but no matter how often he had to live through this experience, he always felt the same in the end.
"Umm.. Well first Mrs.Park you have to carry the two-"
"There is no two Felix."
"Really? Oh um, then... to solve the equation you have to determine the velocity of Y..."
"That's what I'm asking you to do Felix."
The class erupts in laughter around him and he can start to feel the blood rushing to his face and ears.
"Then-"
"That's enough Felix. Pay attention," the teacher scolded while the students around him continued to snicker.
"Yes Mrs.Park," sighed Felix before slumping down in his seat, hiding his face.
At least the secret's still safe, He thought as the class slowly quieted down when the teacher started talking again.
He hated feeling the burning emotion of embarrassment that writhed around in his stomach. He hated hearing the degrading laughter of his fellow students that grated on his ears because it often reminded him of times that were once much, much worse.
Felix glanced back at Jisung who was making faces at him and he began to feel slightly better.
After class ended Jisung and Felix walked out together and chatted one arm slung around each of their shoulders.
"Nice move back there dumbass," laughed Jisung.
"Yah! It's not my fault that she caught me off guard!" countered Felix.
"Actually it is! If you were paying attention than that wouldn't have happened! I swear! Winning over you during tomorrow's test will be no sweat!" retorted Jisung rolling his eyes and chuckling.
"No way! I'll beat you if I study enough tonight!"
"No chance! I'm just hoping you don't embarrass yourself in front of the class again!"
"Ha ha... yeah..." mumbled Felix rubbing the back of his neck while he glanced at the ground, "I really hate being laughed at like that..."
"Stop being so stupid and maybe you won't be!" said Jisung rolling his eyes.
"Stop trying to change me," Felix fake sobbed.
I've already changed myself enough....
And besides... It's much better to be made a fool over something you aren't rather than something you are, thought Felix sadly.
The bell rang just as they entered the science classroom where Seugmin and Hyunjin are already sitting.
