Felix sat by the window in the Milky Way Cafe just as they had discussed, waiting for Changbin. He was the only customer currently there.
He watched the people below as they flitted about their busy lives, his arms folded over his chest and long legs extended under the table. The cafe was located on the second floor of the building next to an intersection with a busy crosswalk so it was in a premium place for people-watching.
It had been a couple hours after his mother had dropped him off at home before having to speed off to work again as she was using her lunch break for him. Although not before making sure that he was comfortable with an ice pack on his head and a bag of frozen peas for his eye. He had felt a little bad, making her use her break for him, but at the time she had reassured him with a smile that it wasn't any trouble at all.
After a while of resting, he got ready for tutoring before walking to the cafe.
The cafe itself was Felix's ideal place for tutoring, it had a pleasantly quiet atmosphere and always slowed down at about three o'clock. And even better, none of his friends or Chan's friends knew about it, making the chances of Felix coincidentally bumping into one of them very slim.
The light blue walls and large windows made the limited space feel open and airy, but it was the theme of the cafe that Felix loved the most. Stars and constellations speckled the walls and hung down from the ceiling, the food was star themed as well! Although pretty, the taste was a bit lacking however, the parfaits were to die for! There were thirteen of them each themed around an astrological sign (although in Felix's opinion the thirteenth sign was there just to rake in more money since the parfaits were so popular). He wanted Changbin to arrive already so that maybe they could order something.
The door chimed signalling the entrance of a new customer. Felix's eyes darted to the entrance where he saw his new client walk in. The boy looked about nineteen or twenty years old, definitely the age of a college freshman and cool as hell too.
He wore all black, black ripped skinny jeans, black leather jacket, black vans and a black T-shirt. His hair was black as well as styled with a trendy undercut. He even carried a black backpack that looked as if it were stuffed with textbooks. Changbin gave off this dark aura that Felix couldn't help, but to feel drawn in by. But it was the pointed chin, narrow face and the long yet tall nose that intrigued Felix the most. He'd probably be really popular in Australia, thought Felix as he remembered the standards of beauty of the country that he'd once live in.
Although to Felix's surprise, the boy's intriguing face was one that he somewhat recognized. It was the same person who had asked for directions to Chan's house the other day!
Felix's eyes darted around the room searching for an escape. There was a high possibility that this kid was friends with Chan or was going to be friends with Chan soon which was fine because Chan already knew that Felix tutored every now and then. But that also meant that he was going to be friends with Chan's friends soon too, who did not know that Felix tutored or about his genius.
He should probably leave before he gets himself caught up in a messy situation.
Changbin glanced around the restaurant in confusion before his eyes finally landed on Felix.
Well, there goes the chance of sneakily slipping away.
Changbin seems to hesitate for a second before walking towards Felix and in that instant he realizes something.
Felix himself actually looked very sketchy, like he was planning to rob the cafe type of sketchy.
He still wore his ripped jeans and white t-shirt, but he had opted to wear a black face mask and a beanie. Although both failed to completely cover up Felix's injuries. His bandages and his platinum blonde hair poked out from underneath his hat and what was left of his foundation failed to cover up the dark purple bruises around his eye. But on the bright side, his glasses' frames helped to hide it a tiny bit since he finally decided to wear them in order to see.
